"Memory Full" message received by caller, although all messages are deleted.

When a message should be recorded on my GE-29897GE1 Digital Answerer CID Speakerphone, the caller gets the message, "Memory Full." Yet all the messages have been deleted. I have found, while searching on-line, that other people have the same problem with this model. Disconnecting the power supply didn't help. Is there a simple fix?

Looking for a new answerling machine. The problem is evidently internal, in the electronics.

GE Telephone answering machine will not work

I'm assuming this is a digital recorder and does not use a tape. Any chance the memory is full and you need to erase messages to free up space for new recordings?
