Maytag Oversized Capacity Plus Washer MAV3 Model MAV5000AWW will not complete cycle This unit has been working fine Medium load of wash Cycle started Water filled and agitation started Dial pressed to temporarily stop cycle Climbed on the lid to retrieve clothing and added to load Washer would NOT start again Pushed the capacity lever to reset and then moved to Super Additional water filled but the cycle has not continued Rotated dial several times and tried unsuccessfully to reset Unplugged from electric and plugged back in Water and clothes are still in the basin How can I restart or drain the washer Maytag suggested calling a service technician but that is plan B Thanks

Usually this is caused by the pump being cloged or broken. Remove the pump and clean the pump out. Make sure it spins freely by hand.
