I've had this problem. There is in control panel circuit area, a thermal cutoff device. It is like a fuse, but creates an open circuit when it gets too hot. You can't reset it, you have to replace it. It looks like a resistor with a cone shape at one end and is often installed in a small plastic housing the size of a scrabble tile. It usually goes in series with the switch that detects whether the dishwasher door is open or closed. It is often a replaceable item set in a little plastic holder. ($17 at our local appliance store) or if you're experience in doing minor appliance repairs, you can buy the termal cut off device at Radio Shack for less than $2 and then remove the old old one from the plastic holder and solder in a new one. (Solder to the two connectors in the plastic housing) You have to use some sort of heat sink on the leads of the thermal cut off while soldering it in, otherwise it will 'open' the thermal device because of the heat of the soldering iron. I use a pair of pliers with an elastic around the grip area to keep it holding tight to the thrermal cut out leads.

If you buy this device from Radio Shack you have to know what temperature you want it to 'open' at. You can find this in the manual for your washer, or look it up online. Mine was 110 degrees farenheit and I was able to replace it with a 128 degree termal cut out from Radio Shack.

Maytag Dishwasher has all lights lit on the panel after reset.

I would try turning off all power to it for few minutes and see if it reset it’s self, before I go to any great expense.
Also I had a washer that quit working on one cycle but would work on the others, could try that as well. Hope this helps!

Hello,

what most likely is going to be the problem is a blown thermal fuse that attaches to the control panel housing. gain access to the control panel and use should see the thermal fuse, the housing for the control board is grey and this part is white.Remove the wires to it and check for contininity on it using a ohm meter set to a low ohms setting. If it turns out to be good the next thing to check is the switch(s) on the latch asm using the same method to check them as the fuse.BEFORE CHECKING EITHER OF THOSE BE SURE TO DISCONNECT POWER TO THE DISHWASHER

Good luck, i hope that i 've helped you to figure out what is wrong with your dishwasher,

No lights on, didnt complete the drain cycle, stopped working now

There is a thermal fuse located in the control panel inside the door. It could be blown, but if so what caused it. they come with a retrofit pigtail to prevent loose connectins on the fuse. You may have a short somewhere in the dryer, and just blow the fuse again. Could be bad motor, fill valve, or heater, or even the control board. I'd try one fuse first.

Because you are not getting an error message, I agree that the controller card is malfunctioning. Almost everthing else would triger an error.
Recommend replacing the controller card.

Dishwasher stopped and will not start

Try jigling the ribbon cable that is connected to the control panel. These ribbon cables sometimes fail. Also check the fuse on the control board to see if it is blown.

Won't start after repair

SUGGEST YOU PULL OUT PLUG THEN OPEN DOOR UNSCREW TOP SECTION OF PANEL TO GAIN ACCESS TO DOOR LIMIT. CAREFULLY BRIDGE BOTH WIRES OUT AND ALSO WITH WATER SWITCHED OFF, SWITCH POWER BACK ON. IF NOTHING STILL, CHECK POWER TO DOOR LIMIT. IF THERE IS POWER, EITHER THERE IS A LOOSE WIRING CONNECTION ON THE BOARD OR IT HAS AGAIN GONE FAULTY.
