I have a dolby digital pacific dvd player and its locked! But i dont have a remote control for it, is there anyway i can get it unlocked without needing the remote??
There are two ways to unlock it.first is using the remote. the other is by opening your unit up and manually open the cd tray, then power on.if not, buying a universal remote won't help either, but bring it to a tech is the last option.

Power ON with NO disc inside:
Press PAUSE on the remote-control
Press 3,1,4,1,5,9 in sequence using the remote-control
Press 0 on the remote to select Region Free
Press PAUSE again to save
Power OFF then Power ON.
Done.
I have the manual and it is called "child lock" go figure it stumps us adults. Anyway...holding the power button down for approx. 8 seconds can toggle this feature on / off
