Can't turn off heated dry

I usually turn off the heated dry on my dishwasher and just open the door when it's through to save energy, but now the heated dry button doesn't respond....the light won't go off when I push it. I tried the "reset" procedure described in another answer and it does nothing.

SOURCE: dishwasher won't start

jamcdani Most likely the problem with your dish washer is bad key pad. It is not repairable and has to be replaced. Whirlpool does not sell it separate and you have to by the whole console assembly. The price range is between $95 and $115 (different colors) and it is not very complicated to replace it. I can help you with the complete step by step instructions and, if you provide the complete model number of your dish washer, I get the part number and the best price for you. Gendos post back...

SOURCE: dishwasher not running

hello sir.....
is the Start/Resume indicator flashing?
Opening the door or interrupting the power stopped the cycle. Close the door and press START/RESUME.

Does the Start/Resume indicator flash 3 times when you
press START/RESUME? The dishwasher is waiting for you to
open the door after the last cycle. Open and close the door,
then press START/RESUME.

may be the motor has stopped due to an overload....as you have mentioned...many of the buttons were pressed...
The motor automatically resets itself within a few minutes. If it does not restart, call for service.

SOURCE: problem with whirlpool dishwasher ADG957

Continuous flash with no pause is a Faulty NTC (temperature sensor)
Or according to whirlpool it might be that your keys are syticking.

The clean light won't stop flashing...

Some Whirlpools to reset the sequence, push Hi Temp Scrub, Energy Saver Dry, Hi Temp Scrub, Energy Saver Dry with the door open and then close the door and hit cancel. Push the buttons as fast as you can - within 4 seconds. Also you can try Normal then Heated Dry then Normal then Heated Dry within 5 seconds to reset. Try those and see if it resets.

You can also try turning off the breaker to the dishwasher for 30 minutes and turn back on as long as the breaker isn't supplying your refrigerator too as in some countries where several appliances can be tied to one breaker, but in the USA, the dishwasher usually has a single breaker for itself.

You can find a troubleshooting guide found inside the door panel in which the screws are taken off and the door slips off and the troubleshooting guide (or tech guide) will be found there and probably is found there with your model. For others with different Whirlpools models it is found by removing the kick plate panel at the bottom of the dishwasher and it is usually glued there. It will list troubleshooting solutions you can try for your dishwasher and diagnostic codes for your dishwasher.
The flashing light is probably an indication that something caused the cycle to not complete, whether the water isn't hot enough or a faulty motor or several things, but the troubleshooting tech guide will help address that.

My dishwasher clean light keeps flashing ... turned the braker off, open and closed the door several times, as well as the soap holder, moved the latch where the door closes ... not sure what else to do...

The reset sequence used was reported to be the following:
1) Crack the door open.
2) Within 3 seconds press the following sequence - Hi Temp Scrub, Energy Saver Dry, Hi Temp Scrub, Energy Saver Dry
3) Close and latch the door
4) Press the cancel button (the circle with the triangle in it)

Not drying dishes, help!!

The LG LDFx810 dishwasher energy saving series uses a condensing system mounted in the door and does not turn on the heating element during the drying cycle. Rather it heats the final rinse water and then runs the condensing fan system to remove the moist air. Energy saving dishwashers will never dry as completely as the energy hogs of 10 years ago - especially the plastic items.

Also, confirm that the rinse aid is full. This will help with drying considerably.

My bosch dishwasher will not dry the dishes

this dw to save energy works this way- the final rinse will reach a temp of 161 F . the dishes have to absorb this heat. when the cycle is complete the dishes become a heater in themselves radiating the heat they absorbed during the final 161 F heat. If you have any tupperware or plastic dishes in the unit they will not absorb heat therefore not radiate the 161 f temp need to dry all the dishes. try to avoid plastic items and they must always have jet dry. this is the european way of conserving energy. on the old ge or whirlpool they had electric element in the bottom that would bake the dishes dry ....not these..but they do save alot of energy.. it helps right after a cycle to crack the door open release all the steam from the unit

Cabinet under the sink is very warm when the dishwasher is in drying cycle. Is this normal?

Dishwashers do have a heating element that heats up during the dry cycle. Warm next to the d/w is normal. There is usually a switch/cycle that you can use "no heat" drying... just open the door when it finishes rinsing... also saves energy.
