I took the front off the e machine w2888 desktop but did not notice the three wires was not one plug, what order and colored wire up or down. Their is a pwr led, pwr s/w, hdd led wire. Thanks Jerry

The eMachines W2888 uses an Intel D845GVSR motherboard.

This is the download page for the Intel D845GVSR motherboard manual, (Product Guide),

http://www.intel.com/support/motherboards/desktop/d845gvsr/sb/cs-008823.htm

Left-click on the first file name in blue -
Intel Desktop Board D845GVSR - Product Guide (PDF)

This is a PDF file. The computer you are using has Adobe Reader on it, which uses PDF files.
After you click on the above file name it may take up to 30 seconds before the first page comes up.
It may also take additional time for the file to fully download.

[ Took 4 seconds to see the first page come up, just now. File was fully downloaded ]

At the top of the PDF file is the page number box. It is to the right of the blue Down Arrow.
This is the page number I will be referring to, and may not be the actual page number of the manual.

Go to Page 11.

This shows an illustration of the motherboard looking down at it from the top.
The letter S points to the Front Panel header.

[The plastic front of your computer is the Front Panel.

The area of pins on the motherboard that the cables (Wires) go to from the Front Panel, is the Front Panel header ]

Looking at the motherboard with the Processor to the top, Ram memory slots to the right, and the white PCI slots (3) to the bottom, the Front Panel header is located parallel to the bottom right edge of the motherboard.

(The illustration has the motherboard sitting on it's right side.
Not the direction it is sitting in your computer.
In your computer the motherboard is sitting as described above )

Now I would like you to go to Page 31.
This illustration shows the various internal headers on the motherboard.
The letter C points to the Front Panel header. (J9G1)

Note that the pins in the Front Panel header are labeled with numbers.
(Pinout)

There are 4 pins across the top.
There are 5 pins across the bottom.

Starting from the Left side of the motherboard, going towards the right, across the Top of the Front Panel header;

Pins 2, 4, 6, and 8.

Starting from the Left side of the motherboard, going towards the right, across the Bottom of the Front Panel header;

Pins 1, 3, 5, 7, and 9

Page 32: Front Panel Header

A) Pins 1 and 3 are for the HarDDrive activity LED light. (HDD LED)
Pin 1 is for the Positive ( + ) wire.

If the LED light is dim when operating, switch the wires around.

B) Pins 5 and 7 are for a Reset switch, IF used.
Pin 5 is for the Ground ( - ) wire.

C) Pin 9 is for a 5 Volt wire. (It's probably Red in color, IF used)

D) Pins 2 and 4 are for the Power On LED light. (Light Emitting Diode)

E) Pins 6 and 8 are for the Power On switch. (The Power On switch is located inside the plastic Power On button assembly)

F) Pin is N/C. Not Connected.

I need a manual for my gigabyte ga-t671mg motherboard so that i can connect the on /off switch

There isn't a manual available for it, as it is an OEM motherboard in pre-built PCs BUT I've the same motherboard in a Packard Bell iMedia J2422 (now in a BitFenix Colossus case!). You connect the power to the bottom left, reset top left, h.d.d led top right, power led bottom right into the Front Headers (F_Panel) - which is located on the bottom right hand-side of the motherboard. My board has writing underneath the header telling you what connects where, maybe yours does too? Hope I've helped.

Need wiring connection diagram for Power Switch to Motherboard for EMachine W2925 model. Wires were disconected accidentally while cleaning inside of tower

micha219, the eMachines W2925 desktop computer uses an FIC motherboard.
First International Computer { Inc }
The Model Number of the FIC motherboard is VC37.
FIC VC37.

Disregard the following if you are aware:
The plastic front of your computer is the Front Panel.
The area on the Motherboard that the cables (Wires) from the Front Panel connect to, is the Front Panel header.

Processor to the Top, Ram Memory slots to the Right, the Front panel header is in the Bottom Right corner.

It is a rectangular shape with two columns of pins.
The length goes up, and down on the motherboard.

The pins on the Right side of the Front Panel header are numbered Odd.
The pins on the Left side of the Front Panel header are numbered Even.

There are 4 pins on the Left side.
There are 5 pins on the Right side.

Starting at the Bottom on the Right side going Up;
Pins 1, 3, 5, 7, and 9.

Starting at the Bottom on the Left side going Up;
Pins 2, 4, 6, and 8.

A) Pins 2 and 4 are for the Power On LED light.
(If after connecting the LED light is dim, reverse the wires)

B) Pins 6 and 8 are for the Power On switch. (Power On button)

C) Pins 1 and 3 are for the HarDDrive Activity LED light.

D) Pins 5 and 7 are for the Reset switch. (Reset button. IF used)

Pin 9 is NC. Not connected

Pulled off front cover. three sets of wires came off. need to know where to reconnect. white/red wire HDD LED, white/green wire POWER LED, white/black wire POWER SW

Hi. You may want to check your motherboard for this wires to connect to, First, check your motherboards manual and look where the FRONT PANEL is located, then on the front panel or in the manual itself it will tell you where are those wires should be connected to. If you dont have the manual for your motherboard search it on google and do the same, and if still you coudnt find it over the internet then just look closely on your motherboard and look for the words HDD LED, POWER LED and POWER SW, usually those words or the FRONT PANEL is located on the left side bottom part of your motherboard. Hope This Helps

I need to know where to connect the three seperate 2 pin connectors from the ''power switch'' to the motherboard on my eMachines C2685 desktop computer.

The eMachines C2685 uses an FIC VC37GV motherboard. (First International Computer, Inc.)

http://www.motherboards.org/mobot/motherboards_d/FIC/VC37GV/

Here is the motherboard manual,

http://www.ime.org.uk/pdfs/vc37_vg31_b1_eng.pdf

After you click on the above link, give it up to 30 seconds to download. This is a PDF file.

Barring you cannot download the file, I will state the connections for the Front Panel header on the motherboard.
(Plus state the page to reference to, in case you can download)

View the first link, with the photo of the FIC VC37GV motherboard.

As shown, Processor is at the top, Ram Memory slots are to the right.

The Front Panel header is located at the very bottom right corner.

It is parallel to the outside edge of the motherboard. There are two rows of pins.
(Page 12)

The Front Panel header has 5 pins going across the top, and 4 pins across the bottom.

The top row of pins are numbered Odd.
The bottom row of pins are numbered Evenly.

On the Top row starting on the Right side, going towards the left, the pins are numbered 1, 3, 5, 7, and 9.

On the Bottom row starting on the Right side, going towards the left, the pins are numbered 2, 4, 6, and 8.

A) Pins 1 and 3 are for the HDD LED. (HarDDrive activity LED)

B) Pins 5 and 7 are for the Reset switch

C) Pins 2 and 4 are for a Dual Color Power On LED, if used.
Green goes to Pin 2. Yellow goes to Pin 4.

Otherwise Pin 2 is Positive, ( + ), and Pin 4 is Negative. ( - )

D) Pins 6 and 8 are for the Power On switch.
(PWR1, or SW1)

There is a small 3 pin header, just above the Front Panel header. (Page 12)

This is for a Power LED that has either two wires, or three wires.
The pins are numbered from Right to left.

Pin 1 is for the Power LED, and Pin 2 is for Ground, if using a two wire Power LED. (Not dual color)

Pin 1 is for the Power LED, and Pins 2 and 3 are for Ground (GND), if using a three wire Power LED.

My GE side-by-side howls. Model GSL25IGRBBS.

First of all - make sure you route the green grounding wire connector from the board to one of the screws, holding the board cover. If you leave it hanging - you can kill the board if the wire touches some of the board elements.

Second - check what kind of sensors you have in your fridge. There are three of them: one in the fresh food section, and 2 in the freezer.

If any of the sensors has black compound where the wires enter the white plastic cylinder, you'll need to replace it with the newer one: WR55X10025

Locations: One behind the damper cover in fresh food section (far left top corner)
One in the far left bottom corner (small cover with 2 white wires to it)
One (which most likely makes the problem) is on top of the evaporator (coil in freezer section, behind the lower back cover). Ifyou replace any of them - make sure to insulate the splice points with food-grade silicone.

Wires from switch came unplugged (white and black) where do they

Power On switch (Button)? Restart switch? Speakers?Wires came loose from the motherboard?
Should like you to see if you can trace the wires back to the front panel, (Where the Power On button is located
Granted, this may be a little tough in some instances. If you can, ease the front panel loose, and you'll get a better view.

There are usually four to six tabs, coming from the front panel. Two or three on each side. Usually one at the top, one in the middle, and one at the bottom. (On the three tabs per side model) These plastic tabs are eased towards the inside direction of the computer. You will observe that they have a 'tang' on them. You just ease the tab to the inside, until this tang clears the hole, then ease the front panel forward a little. Once you get one tab started, then go to the next tab up, or down. Depends on if you start at the top, or bottom.

This way you can see if this Black and White wire goes to the Power On switch, the Reset switch, (IF used), one of the speaker wires, or one of the LED lamps in the front panel. (Power On, or Harddrive activity lamp)

I also need the model name and model number.
Example: T1090

I have to find an illustration of the motherboard (Try), and be able to tell you, what pins on the motherboard those wires go to.

Now, up front, finding the motherboard specifications for an eMachine computer, is a little tough. Also, there were three different motherboard manufacturers. Makes it a lot of fun.(?)

However, not to despair. I'm pretty decent at finding this info. I have worked on a lot of eMachines, and have a few around my shop right now. Maybe I (we'll) get lucky.
