NOT PLAYING DVD'S

My player is giving me a messege on the screen saying that the dvd is not compatible with this player.  The only problem is that its a legitemate dvd ( not bootleg) and I was just playing this same movie two days ago.  I received this messege after I unplugged it and connected it to a different T.V.

Switched player to a older tv which I had to buy a RF out adapter. The old Hitachi tv now has a vcr and the dvd connected. The vcr plays. The rca dvd sends a message that disc is not compatable. The disc's played on other dvd's

This dvd played when it was connected to my 1999 Sony.

This RCA RC5220P was purchased in 1999..

I swiched the rc5220P dvd to an old 1999 Hitachi tv for which I had to buy a RF out adapter. This also has a vcr player hooked up. The vcr works, the dvd showes a message, disc is not compatable. Disc plays on other dvd's and it played when I had it hooked to a Sony tv. The dvd was purchased in 1999.

Have you tried that dvd in another player?
Have you tried another dvd in your player?
Since this began after you moved it, do some backtracking.
If someone says...it quit AFTER I did...such and such, then THAT is most likely the cause.
I have solved many problems by backtracking.

I have Samsung DVD Video Combo

Make sure the player is switched on, and is at the Samsung logo
screen. Also check the tray is shut and that there's no disc in the
player.

Now press the REPEAT button on the remote, followed by a five digit
code. This code is different depending on what region your player is
*currently* set to:

R1 - 29334
R2 - 38767
R3 - 56732
R4 - 76884
R5 - 53814
R6 - 24462

So for example if you have an R2 player, press REPEAT-3-8-7-6-7.

If you've done this correctly (and your player is compatible with the
hack), you should see a number at the top left corner of the screen
corresponding to the current region.

Now, pressing any number from 1 to 6 will change to the corresponding
region. Or, press 9 for auto-region mode.

Next, press OPEN/CLOSE to open the tray, followed by Standby (or DVD
POWER) on the remote to close it and put the player into Standby mode.
The next time you turn your player on, the new region will be set.
If the above codes don't work try 57538.

Hope this helps.

Can''t play dvd-r on my computer

Is it the DVD player/cd burner combo on your computer or simple CD player?
Or
Compatibility: Check if your DVD player on your computer is compatible of playing -r's CD or DVD?.
Check the make and model of your computer and go to the manufacturer's website and find out from there.
Or
You might have to talk to the manufacturer's support.
and if you are sure that the DVD player and its compatible of playing -r's DVDs then first of all check by playing any +r's DVD and see how they respond. If you are certain that it plays - and +rs etc then recheck your recording of DVD's.
Also try installing a good program software like Nero on the computer which will give you options of controlling, burning and playing DVD/CD on your computer.
Best of luck!
