If the light is on will that help? You can turn the light on by opening up the camera lens and then click on settings. Turn on light is about the 5th one along. I have been playing with phone trying to get flash to go on too but as yet have still to discover how. Must look out manual!

My flash stopped working on my nikon coolpix L110..

The Nikon Coolpix is a compact digital camera that is well-suited for amateur to semi-professional photographers. Occasionally, some issues with the built-in flash can occur. If the hardware is damaged, the camera must be taken in for repairs. More often, problems occur because of obstructions or issues with the camera's settings and are easily repairable. Follow the troubleshooting guide to fix the built-in flash.

Instructions:
1.Ensure the Nikon Coolpix digital camera battery is fully charged.
2.Wait several seconds before pressing the shutter-release button if the "Flash Ready" indicator light is flashing red. Press the "Flash Mode" button once or twice to change the flash settings from "Off" to "On" or "Auto" if the "Flash Ready" indicator light is off.
3.Ensure there are no obstructions, like your finger or the camera strap, that are preventing the flash from firing if an error message appears on the display screen and the flash is not firing when the flash mode is set to automatic.
4.Press the flash back into the camera after every photo to ensure the flash always fires in "Auto" mode instead of just in low illumination settings. Press the flash back into the camera to turn off the flash in "Manual" mode; otherwise the flash will continually fire.
5.Change the auto focus setting from "Infinity" to "Auto," "Macro Closeup" or "Self-Timer" by pressing the "Focus Mode" button once, twice or three times to automatically turn the flash back on.
6.Use only Nikon external flash accessories to avoid damage to the built-in flash and camera circuits.

I hope you find it very helpful. Thanks.

I have canon a640 camera. I am getting problem regarding taking pictures as the flash is not working. I have tried it on Auto mode, Portrate, landscape and others the result is same. Please help me in...

make sure the dial at the top of the camera is set to AUTO or the green camera icon. When you are in position to take a picture, press the left button on the circle pad on the back of the camera; it should look like a SQUIGGLY ARROW this is the sign for flash. that button should turn it on, off, at automatic based on the current lighting.
Hope this helps!

How do i turn off the flash on the cannon power shot a530

Press the Flash button (the top part of the circular "joystick" button, marked with a lightning bolt) to cycle through the options. You can choose from Auto with red-eye reduction, Auto, Flash on with red-eye reduction, Flash on, and Flash off. You want the lightning bolt in a circle with a slash through it.

I am a new user and I can't get my flash to turn on. Please help

There is a button on the back of your camera with a flash icon on it. Just press the button once and it will show the current state of the flash. If a display comes with a round around a flash symbol, that looks like a wave of lightning, then the flash is off. Press again once more and it will go to flash on, and then if you press again it will go to auto flash mode.

How do I turn off the flash for the canon powershot a630?

First of all, the flash can not be turned off in "Auto" mode. You can turn it off in any mode other than Auto. Would recommend Program "P" mode, which is very similar to Auto, but allows you to modify certain minor items such as flash and white balance.

Rotate your mode dial to "P", then press the button on the back with the "lightning bolt" icon. Press until the lightning bolt with a slash shows up on your LCD screen. The flash is now turned off in Program mode. Try taking a picture.

Remember, if in low light conditions you'll need to keep the camera extra steady without flash to get a clear picture. Recommend placing the camera on a table or chair (or even better, use a tripod), then using its autotimer to snap the picture.

Help flash Nixon coolpix L11

hello,

make sure when you press the round selection button on the back of the camera flash option, you press the ok in the center of the button on the back.

it will show brief yellow AUTO in the LCD screen upper right corner for a sec.

when you are going to take a picture holding the shutter button half way down, you should see up at the right corner outside of the LCD screen a red led flashing to indicate flash is ready.

one thing to try if this is not working, find the camera reset option in the menu. after doing this you may have to reset the date & time. it will bring the camera back to default settings

on the bad side if these dont work, possible flash circuit may have failed inside the camera.

good luck!

The flash on my camera is not working!!!!

If the camera was dropped, then it's really causing those kinds of issues like flash will not work properly.

You could still try these steps below:

First, do the POWER RESET:
- Turn off camera
- Remove batteries for a minute
- Reload batteries
- Turn on camera

Second, do the MASTER RESET
- Be in AUTO mode
- Press on MENU button
- Press on the right button until you see SETUP 2
- Scroll down until you see RESET
- Press the right button to pick up on YES or NO
- Press on OK/MENU button for changes to be saved
- Turn off camera for a few seconds so that settings will be refreshed

Turn it on and take a picture.
When you want to have just the AUTO FLASH.

- Rotate the mode dial to PROGRAM
- Press the LEFT/FLASH button until you've seen the
LIGHTNING icon with the Letter A on the leftmost part of the screen
- Try to take a picture by pressing and holding the shutter button
halfway first for 3-5 seconds and then press it all the way down
Hope this one helps.

Flash mode locked to Off

Try this, I had the same problem. Here is what I did, I powered off the camera then with the menu button pressed I turned the camera on. This must set the camera back to default settings. I was then able to turn my flash to auto or any other selection.
