Are the fan and the compressor both on? These dehumidifiers seem to have a lot of trouble. Check out this forum:

Does not collect water in bucket but runs all the time

Does it have a filter?

"
It may be that the humidity level or temperature in the room where your dehumidifier is located is too low.

When the outdoor temperature is below 50 F, the indoor air will be dry even when the air inside is warm, therefore when it's cold outside the dehumidifier may collect little or no water.

Air conditioners will also remove moisture from the room, even if it's hot and humid outside, resulting in little or no moisture collecting in the dehumidifier bucket.

Some dehumidifiers have a deicer which turns off the compressor but keeps the fan running. When the compressor is off, moisture is not removed from the air. The deicer turns off the compressor when the room temperature is cold.

Some dehumidifiers do not have a deicer. If the room temperature is low enough, ice may form on the evaporator coil. The ice prevents the dehumidifier from removing and collecting water. If ice forms on coils, unplug dehumidifier until ice melts and room temperature rises."

Just stopped working. When I turn unit on the power light comes on for about 2 seconds then goes off, nothing else happens. Any ideas?

It may simply be that the water collection bucket is not installed properly or the air intake filter is clogged.

Turn the Master ON/OFF Switch to OFF and unplug the unit from the wall outlet. Remove the air intake filter and clean it, if necessary. While the unit is unplugged and OFF, remove the water collection bucket and reinstall it. Making sure that the bucket fits "squarely" from top to bottom, in the bucket holder. It must make contact with the bucket safety removal switch, to activate the unit. Once you have reinstalled the bucket, make sure the bottom of the bucket is not tilting downward.

If you cleaned the filter, be sure it is totally dry, before reinstalling it. Then plug the unit back in, turn the Master ON/OFF Switch to ON and if everything was done correctly, the unit should start and run. DO NOT OPERATE THE UNIT, WITHOUT THE AIR INTAKE FILTER INSTALLED.

Hope this helped you to troubleshoot and solve the problem.

Our AD25THO. Runs fine but has recently stopped collecting water. It's dry as a bone and our basement is very damp. What's wrong with it?

I purchased this unit brand new. It has never produced any water. It runs and after a few minutes it indicates that the bucket is full although it is bone dry. Did I miss something when setting it up...

Well, David, you may have. If the water collection bucket is not installed properly, it won't trigger the safety switch. Remove the buck and make sure that it is reinstalled squarely (top to bottom). Leave the unit ON when you do this. If it's reinstalled properly and the humidity extraction level is set low enough, (32 - 40%) the unit should turn ON automatically, within a few seconds. After you remove the bucket to reinstall it, look up in the cavity and you will see the safety trigger switch. This what you want the bucket to activate. Also, if your model as a float valve near the top of the bucket, make sure it's not locked in the up position.

Hope this helps you to troubleshoot and solve the problem. Please let me know. Thanks.

Fan runs but does not collect water

It sounds as though the compressor is not running or the machine is low or out of refrigerant.
