Floppy disk I have a Seagate Barracuda 7200.7, model ST340014A (40 Gb) that I would like to prepare for Windows NT 4.0. Do you have a utility that will format this drive to full capacity and have it be ready for NT 4.0?

try replacing all the leads that attach to your hard drive including electrical extensions + IDE,SATA and the ones that attach from your motherboard to hard drive
have secure connections and are not faulty or just replace them they are probably old and faulty ?

Lags and says has bad sector after 14 months

Good day sir/maam, hi, 14 months is too short for a hard disk operating span, what we do is run the diskmanager software that comes with the seagate hard disk, on the diskmanager menu, run the low level format which usually removes the bad sectored space out of the way, and mark it as not usable. then may I suggest you partition your hard drive to 2, one for windows and the the other for data. call your computer dealer if they have in house techs for service, or get the copy of disk manager for your seagate. Hope this helps, thanks

Windows

I've just installed the same type of hard drive in my PC running win XP and have no problems.. do u know that you need to format the disk before it will show up with the other accessible drives?

what to do is - click start, right click on my computer and go to manage.. then double click on storage, disk management local.. and it should show up here, once you format it your all set..

No need for drivers, windows has them already, it's all generic one's the windows is familiar with..

Hope this helps!
