We've set the fax to print document, but when a fax is received, we don't know where it goes. it doesn't print it, and we can't find it on the computer anywhere - where is it!
Fax machines can be set to store documents, print docs or do both. If you set it to only print received faxes, it will try to print and give you some kind of error it if fails (e.g. no paper). Did you get an error? if not it either is set to store and not print, or it didnt store it and you have lost it. From the menus on the Epson, look for where items may be stored e.g. 'store' or 'mailbox' and check if there is any doc in there.

More investigation implies that faxing over VoIP, as I am doing, requires setting the fax BAUD rate to 9600 bps or slower. So does anyone know if it is possible to set the BAUD rate on the Dell MFP 1600n multifunction printers?

Might be a problem with speed of the fax. See related question.

You have a known issue with your unit, the unit will require a firmware update. The issue is known to epson and they should fix it under warranty. Contact your local epson service centre or contact epson direct in your country. If they try to charge you, scream loudly at them, advising them that this is a known issue with this model and they are obliged to repair it. You will find they will fix it without too much objection.

SOURCE: what are the settings to receive a fax on epson
Every fax will have a setting to stop and start the ability to receive faxes. Without your model number I can't guide you to the exact place, but look in your manual, under SETUP.
Good Luck
