Can't turn tv on with remote, only manually, when on volume is at 100 and cannot be adjusted with remote or manually. channels cannot be changed with remote or manually. Changed batteries in remote,

The tv can only be turned on manually, when on the volume is at 100 and cannot be adjusted with remote or manually, will not change channels with remote or manually. Changed batteries in remote. Remote still operates PVR.

    I have the same issue, tried to restart it. Remote doesn't work even after new batteries and when i turn the TV on the volume skyrockets to 100 and you cant turn it down as it goes straight back up. When you press the volume up button it goes down and then once released goes back up again? Really weird and annoying.

LG 1080P tv turns on by itself. Also when turning it on volume will surge to 100% and can't control volume or change channels

Volume moving on it's own
Either the key/button the TV or Remote is stuck. Just remove the batteries of the remote and try. If same thing continues, do vacuum cleaning of the panel button/switch after switching of the TV, removing the plug from the power outlet. If the problem persists, this might require attention by a qualified service technician.

Hi My matsui tv 1409T remote died (due to battery leakage!) so I have got a signalex universal remote as a quick fix replacement. I have set the remote to switch the tv on/off, change channel and adjust...
1) Change the batteries by alkalines
2) Retight the springs contacts with plyer for better contacts.
3) clean the contacts with special spray contacts.
4) Downloa the code or proceed with your instruction manual.
5) If the problem persist, you must return you remote control and buy other from Radio Shack I am recommending.

Orion TVD2710. Lost remote, can't change signal input
I would suggest you try to find a universal remote that has an "input" or "source" button and program that one to your tv. By pressing the "source" or "input" button, it will change the input to the tv. I hope this helps! -Der Strom

Remote and caption problems
have you programmed the remote? or you can go into the menu button on the front of the tv, use the up down (either the volume or channel may move the selection) to locate the caption on/off control and turn it off that way. if you need the manual try here

Check if the remote is in TV position, that is, because most of the remote controllers have the feature that you can program them for use with another devices. Make shure that one button that says "TV" in pressed and released once before you try to change any function on the TV.
