Since I added more gasoline, the lawn mower shuts off

I paid $50 for a complete tune up. I picked up the machine and it was working fine. Then it ran out of gas. I added more gas and from that time, it shuts off after few seconds. Any advise would be greatly appreciated. I called up the repairshop and they told me it could be bad gas. Any advise on fixing this problem would be appreciated. I don't want to spend more money on this.

Hello:

It Sounds like the Gas was Bad or there was Water/Trash in the Gas.
Remove the Carburetor Bowl and Check for Water/Trash.
On Some Models you can Use a Combination Wrench and Remove the Bowl Retainer Bolt and Allow the Bowl to Drop Enough for the Gas to Flow and Flush the Bowl in this Manner.
**Be Carefull, Please. Gas is Dangerous.**
On Other Models you have to Remove the Carburetor from the Engine for Servicing.

How do I fix when an engine that ran until it ran out of gas but won't start after brand new gas added?

If it ran low dirty fuel may have entered the carb blocking a jet, try taking off the air cleaner and covering the port completely while turning it over it will cause a vacum that will hopefully suck out any debris. Or try carb cleaner, spray it in the open port when turning over.

Check for spark and gas. If adding a few teaspoons of gasoline to the cylinder allows the engine to run for a few seconds, then you know that the ignition system is fine, but there is a blockage of gasoline to the engine.

Lawn mower husqvarna problem

I have an XT721F self-propelled, auto choke Husqvarna mower. The first time I used it this season it ran for a short time and then just quit on me. I have since emptied out all of the gas and have replaced it with high octane 91, and have also added Seafoam to clean out any other issues. I mowed two weeks ago with no problems and went to mow again today and only made it through 2/3 of my back yard and the mower stalled out on me again. What's going on?

Empty the tank of the tainted gasoline (Maybe add the right amount of oil and use it for a trimmer, etc), fill tank with fresh gas and clean the spark plug, since it is probably fouled out. You may have to clean the carb with some carb cleaner, and clean your plug a few extra times, but it should be fine. Hope this helps. Good luck.
