Dear All I bought a Janome JFS1821 S sewing machine about 3 days ago, which is a called Janome JFS 1821 S in South Africa. I want the same machine videos such that i can learn more about using the machine. Can you please give me the name of he machine which is similar to this one such that i can google the vidoe. I believe they change the name as per State laws. Please help.

it sounds like a needle threading problem. if you have the instruction book, pull yout needle thread off the machine and re-thread as per the book ie presser foot up and make sure thread goes betwen tension discs and up over takeup lever.
to check needle tension is ok, lower presser foot and pull needle thread through needle, the needle thread should be tight enough to bend the needle a little.

I would really suggest that you start with this website www.sewing.about.com, there is so much really good general information on sewing, sewing machines, threading up, trouble shooting, using the right sized needle and quality thread and it is all free.
I have found a pdf file of the manual on line ftp://ftp.drivehq.com/ click on the link saying "RX18S instructions", it will take a while to load as its 17MB.
