Sounds like you may have a "new message" alert indicator. Have you checked that? Go thru the menu on one of the hand sets and find answering machine set up and turn off message alert.

Manual for Panasonic Handset KX-TGA560B

For the KX-TG5672, you should press and hold the Intercom button until the charge indicator flashes. Then press the button to assign the handset # 1, 2 or 3 (keypad 1, 2 or 3). Then press OK on the handset and wait for the handset to beep. These steps must be done within a minute from when the charge indicator flashes. It's best to have the base and the handset close together when you register the handset.

Panasonic has the manual for the TX-TGA560 available here: http://service.us.panasonic.com/OPERMANPDF/KXTGA560-MULTI.PDF . (This manual covers both the KX-TGA560B and KX-TGA560M.) The manual for the KX-TG5672 is available here: http://service.us.panasonic.com/OPERMANPDF/KXTG5671S.pdf .

If you still have a problem, try removing the battery from the handset and disconnecting the power cord from the base (from the wall and the base itself). Wait a few minutes and then reconnect the power cord and the battery for the handset. (Make sure that the base has power and the adapter is warm.) Then try registering again.

I hope this helps.

I keep getting a system busy, try again later message when I try to place a call. I tried an old phone in the same jack and it works fine.

Hi,

This is a COMMON problem with this handset. There are only few tricks that you could use to resolve this which are mentioned below :-

1. Unplug the unit for few minutes, say 15 minutes and then turn it ON.

2. De-register and re-register the phone.

3. Pull out the battery. Then hold the locate handset button on the base for 4 seconds. The base would beep for around 30 seconds and could resolve the problem.

If the problem persists, you need to send the unit for repair. To be honest, i would afraid to send the unit for repair as the repair cost would be high as compared to cost of the set.Buying a new set would be a much better and wise option.

Let me know,if needed further assistance.

Hope i helped you.

Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!

Can not rec a dial tone, phone states no link to base move closer

If “No link to base. Move closer to base, try again.” is displayed
even when using the handset near the base unit, the handset may have lost communication with the base unit. You need to re-register the handset to the base unit.
• Make sure the base unit is not being used.
• Have both handsets and base unit nearby during registration.
• Follow steps 1–3 listed below. You have about 1 minute to complete them.
• Confirm the extension number of the handset which has lost the communication by placing the handset on the base unit or charger.
If you re-register the handset using the other handset’s extension number, the other handset will not function.
• If the handset beeps 3 times and “Error!!” is displayed, an error occurred. Try again from step 1.
• You can stop registration by pressing [OFF] on the handset, and pressing [LOCATOR/INTERCOM] on the base unit.

1 Base unit: Press and hold [LOCATOR/INTERCOM] until a beep sounds.
• The CHARGE indicator flashes.

2 Base unit: Press the extension number [1] (handset symbol 1 ) or [2] (handset symbol 2) of the
handset which has lost the communication.

3 Handset: Press and hold [FLASH/CALL WAIT] until “Handset Registering” is displayed.
• When registration is complete, a beep sounds from the handset and the display shows the number.
• Wait for 20 seconds after registration is complete while the handset establishes communication with the base unit.

• If the handset beeps 3 times and “Error!!” is displayed, an error occurred. Try again from step 1.
