Lanier 5635 Sorter

I am getting a paper jam error with the sorter. There is no jam, but when I close the door to the sorter it displays error code sc726. I have unplugged the sorter and the errors go away. How would I either access the sensor to clean it or remove the sorter completly? FYI - I do not need the sorter.

SOURCE: Jammed paper at the Sorter Unit

Do you get a paper jam or is the finsher not showing that is empty? You may have a broken bin or a miss alined bin or you have a lazy sensor flag. The copier should give you a idea where the paper jam is... May need more info. on this one..

The copier is displaying error code C06 (or C0b) 60. If I unplug the sorting tray (where the copies exit) the machine will make copies, otherwise it is frozen with the above error code and a red wrench? ...

I can tell from the code this must be a Minolta copier or made by Minolta. The CoB60 code is a sorter failure code. This code must be reset by opening, then closing the sorter. By that I mean if you have a 10 bin sorter that hangs from the left side of the machine then you need to release the sorter away from the machine then close it back. Same thing with the 20 bin which sits on the floor. Pulling the sorter away then re-attaching is the only way to clear this code. Now if the code comes right back then there is a mechanical problem which must be repaired. The 60 code deals more with the stapler in the sorter. You can try reloading the staples but that rarely works. It is either a jammed staple or a problem with the stapler itself.
If you need further info just reply back with your specific model and issues.
Thank You for using Fixya.

It says error code C0b63 what does it mean

All Cob codes on this series of Minolta copiers pertain to the sorter. Most all of the time you can simply open and close the sorter to reset the code. By open and then close I mean that the sorter must be pulled away from the copier then closed back.
Make sure there is nothing interfering with the movement of the sorter bins.
If opening/closing does not reset the code or if the code comes right back after resetting then the sorter will need service as dis-assembly/repair/re-assembly will be required. You can also unplug the large connector going from the sorter to the machine and use the copier without the sorter. If you have a 10 bin sorter that "hangs" from the side of the machine then you can leave the sorter attached and it will work fine unplugged. If you have the 20 bin sorter that sits on the floor then the sorter will have to be moved away from the copier if unplugged to prevent the machine from jamming. If you unplug the sorter be sure to turn the copiers power off before disconnecting the sorter.
Good Luck and Thank You for using Fixya.

Paper keeps jamming between the doc feeder and sorter, and fax does not work.

The Sorter is either disconnected or out of alignment. look behind the machine there should be a cable from the main unit to the sorter. Check it for connection, also make sure the sorter or inline with the machine. and all access doors are closed.

Hope this is of some help.

Error on the machine display is ch

If the CH is blinking the cartridge is not installed correctly. Remove and reinstall cartridge.
If the CH is on constant, it is a sorter problem. Check sorter for paper jam or bins out of place, and sorter connection.

Hope this helps.

Error code E522. How to fix this?

You have an issue with your staple finisher, probably need to inspect the stapler unit itself to make sure nothing is jammed in it and it moves freely. If you can't clear the error then most likely the unit is defective.

Hope this helps,

Paper Misfeed Problem

When you close the doors does the message disappear? If so then the paper pickup roller is worn. Open the cassette remove all paper apart from one sheet. Spray a alcohol based cleaned on the leading edge of the paper. Try and do a copy this will issue a jam and also clean the pickup roller. repeat a few times then clean out the cassette and dry off place new paper in the cassette and try. Also there maybe a piece of paper behind the cassette. Remove cassette and reach in and remove paper lodged at back.

Thanks Jason
