Hello. I have a SHARP 80inch TV which while watching switched off with smoke coming out of the back. I have confirmed through a SHARP agent that the problem is with the power board however I need the service manual for my TV in order to order the accurate parts. Could someone tell me where I can find it. Thank you.
Well you can get the service manual for this model Here if you pay 19$ for it. or you can look at the affected board and get the part number off it call a service company and find out if they have a replacement in stock.

I have the same problem with my My LC-42D62U WHen i watch certain DVDs, (so far it happened on SAW III and RUNNING SCARED) during certain parts of those movies my TV will turn off and i cant turn it back on unless i unplug it and plug it back in. It only turns off on specific parts in the movie, i have no idea why...like the same exact parts...so i pretty much have to pause the movie with my remote once my TV turns off then when i power the TV on again just resume the movie and its fine...but if i rewind to that part again it'll power off again SAW III only had one part like that....but RUNNING SCARED had about 3-4

Voltage checking and caps inspection will be the first thing to do.
If you can post the pictures, that will help a lot. Look at the inverter board to see if you are getting 12~18vdc feeding it, also look for caps with leaking/bulging top.

Did you check the fuses on the Inverter board? You power supply is working.

You will get a white screen when you unplug the t-con from the main board. Doing so removes power to the LCD panel. Verify that all of your voltages from the power supply are correct. If they are, I'd look at the t-con board. It sounds like there is a problem with the t-con that is pulling down the main board.
