All of the channel are resonding to the test. but you cant notice it bec 5.1 speakers, each channel are designed to respond to a certain frequecies.  the L/R channel your talking about have the mid-range frequecies so it responds clearly compared to other channels...

hope that helps...

Directing Creative Soundblaster X-Fi synths to SPDIF

I have researched this same problem with my SB X-FI Fatality Gamer Edition and the answer I came up with is that you cannot output sound ( at least not 5.1 surround sound ) through the SPDIF out. Supposedly, this port is used for " some other reason " that I could never clarify. The only solution I ever uncovered was to buy the breakout box for the sound card.

Analog mode unfunctional

Dear kaarlo125

In regards to your card not working in analog mode the card can only do analog or digital not both. So for analog to work you will need to turn off the digital mode. You should be able to do this in the Audio HQ. There should be a check box that you will need to uncheck. However it is been awhile since I had my Live card working so I am not directly sure where it is at but if you have trouble finding it let me know and i can set the card up on my test system.

As for the speaker test there is not a real test for digital speakers because the audio is a compressed signal. Now there has been AC3 files rigged to work like a speaker test but this was not avalible with the Live card.

Let me know if you still have trouble. If you do I will need some more info:

Make and Model of your speakers.
Model of the Live Card (Also did the card come with your computer.) The link below will show you how to find the model number on the Live card.

Creative Labs Inspire 5.1 5200 Speaker System

You could test the speakers on another computer or another type of player.
As for testing the speaker itself you might want to open them up and look for rust.. Moisture could have gotten inside and ruined them.
That is the best that I can do.

If you have installed any Windows XP applications for your Sound Blaster X-Fi card, it is recommended that you uninstall these (Windows XP) applications before installing the Sound Blaster X-Fi Vista Installation CD. Front and rear speakers do not work

Hi,

My connection dropped for a second and lost you on the live session. Thereafter I keep on getting errors.

In any case, have you tried:
1. disabling the built-in sound in your CMOS/BIOS?
2. Verify that your Creative drivers are all installed correctly with no red or yellow marks in your Device Manager under Sound, video and game controllers;
3. Are all the connectors/plugs wired to the right jacks. Iknow the sub operates wirelessly but all others are still wired.

Post back pls how things are so we can figure other things out.

Good luck and kind regards.
