the DVD has stoped working and when try to brun a CD it says that I need to connect a bruner which is connected.

you should try download the drivers off line so that you can brun your cd's again. iam not sure if this will help or not thats just what i would try first

yes it is repairable but best way to get it repair is get it to some professional only

search blank (engine) "Free download of CD driver software" and click Search, to get your download.

hi kidcrazy,
u have to go to felix bruns website to download ipod touch firmware and after that u have to restore your ipod touch to factory setting. steps you need to know include
1. open itune
2. connect your ipod touch to your system
3. press and hold home button and hold button for 10seconds(your itune will recognise your ipod touch forcefully.
4. after that press shift key and restore to find the firmware u have downloaded from felix bruns site.

Try to change the write speed to a lower speed. If it's burning at 52x, try 48x. See if that helps.

Reinstall your driver with the CD provided alongwith your PC while purchase.

If problem persist, then check your CD drive lens.. it would have gone out.. This may be the reason your CD drive could not get detect..

If it's a straight vertical or horizontal line always in the same place it's a panel issue which the average user even with repairing skills will not be able to reliably repair ,Sorry.
