Icemaker makes a growling noise even if i move the arm to the off position it will still make the noise for awhile .no problem getting ice just noisy...all nite long I have the same problem, it does not do this all the time just occasionally and mostly at night. Only makes the loud growling sound while the icemaker is on, but does make ice just fine.

No water flowing to ice maker

to see if icemaker is still good pour a 1/2 cup of water into tray and wait for a day. make sure shutoff arm or switch is on or down (arm down) if it makes ice then the icemaker is ok. if it dont then hold up.
if it makes ice then either the water pressure is too low (or no water) or the water valve is bad. (to check water valve you need a volt meter).
ok back to hold up part... the icemaker actuallys controls the water valve so you can have no water but that doesnt mean the icemaker is bad. so here are the three possiblities to your problem:
ice maker
water vavle
not enough/no water
before you buy anything let me know and we can go over this again
hope this was helpful (or confusing sorry)

Have viking side by side referagator , freezer model # ddrb304. I installed copper line to ice maker yesterday It is not making ice. Checked that water supply is on. Appreciate any suggestions Lou

make sure you have strong water pressure to the frig.
Do the ice maker have a shutoff arm? or a shutoff switch? either way make sure it is on. by now there should be water in the icemaker tray. if not then manually pour 1/2 cup of water into the icemaker. if it does make ice then replace the water fill valve.
if there is ice still in the ice maker tray you still have to check the water fill valve before we can say the icemaker doesn't work.
need a meter to check the continunity of the water vavle. if the valve is open repalce valve, if there is continunity the the valve is good.
hope this is helpful. if you cant do this ask a friend who is an electrician to help you

Ice maker is not making ice

Subzero ice makers arent all cut and dry. You could have an intermittent issue with either the ice maker itself, or the solenoid valve. SZs also often utilize a door switch which prevents the ice maker from operating if the door or the basket which the ice bucket sits in are not closed or in the proper position. If you have had other what would seem minor problems, that you have lived with, they can inadvertently affect different things. Most sub zero ice makers you can start manually by rotating the ejector comb clockwise as you look at the front of the icemaker, when the icemaker completes its cycle, do you get water to the ice maker, and do you get enough water, usually 140-150 ccs. If the ice maker continues rotating on its own after your initial start up, and receives the proper amount of water, either you have a cooling problem, a door or something is not in the correct closed position, you have a bad switch, or the ice maker is bad. If you receive little or no water at end of cycle, you have a bad valve.

Ice maker is overflowing

Older icemakers have a bar that drops from above your ice bin; once the bin is full the bar is raised and trips turning the ice maker off so that it won't dump. If your's is this style, try manually pushing the free end of the bar upward so that it locks in the upward position. Newer ice makers with the ice bin in the door have a small panel that moves to the open position when the door opens and closes when the door closes. Mine also includes an optical sensor that is visible when this panel is in the closed position. Try placing a non-clear tape over the optical sensor (don't know if that will work or not but worth a shot). If effective in stopping the ice flow then call a repairman. If none of this works, turn off the water supply coming out of the wall to your freezer.
