Rio ipl power supply

You have halted the firmware due to a failure to load IPL. This is recoverable if you do a hard reset. See your service and programming manuals for hard reset and IPL instructions. Make sure you have the correct IPL and loader for your region. If you don't need to replace the IPL then do not attempt it

The car computer does the firing of the spark plugs based on info provided to it by various sensors in car. Your mechanic is spot on. Ouch!

The model number for your saw (I think, thanks for supplying the numbers) is "11-400102-05. A link to an IPL (exploded parts list) follows:

Illustrated Parts Lists: (IPLs) are fairly simple. On the underside of McCulloch saws is a black and yellow tag; the upper number (“Power Mac 320” 600021H) is the model, below it a serial number (11-18555). These 2 numbers are combined to create an IPL number (“Power Mac 320” IPL number = 11-600021H). The IPL number can be used to find the correct IPL for every McCulloch parts supplier I’ve found. If the parts supplier only list part numbers the proper IPL is the source for the part number.
Operator’s Manuals: are much more difficult. I’ve dialed this number many times (Contact Us - All McCulloch Products 1 (800) 521-8559) and have yet to get a satisfactory response. Please try this! If enough of us try they will fix it!

Item 1 (2 each on this saw) are bar retaining nuts (loosen to adjust bar and chain; remove nuts and clutch cover (chain brake released (brake pulled aft then released)) to remove bar).
Item 140 is the tension adjuster, loosen it some before attempting to remove the bar.
Remove the chain; then remove the bar.
use this to find the correct IPL for your saw.

I don't have any solution for your problem BUT you can resolve mine : what color are the rings of the AR51 component (next to the big dissipator)

Sorry but if a fuse blows theres a reason 99.999999999% of the time. as a fuse very rarly goes bad all by its self. This unit is a difficult one to trouble shoot unless you have the schematic diagram. It sounds like your missing the main b+ voltage and could be the regulator ic or a capacitor in the supply. If your not a tech you will be shooting in the dark replacing parts as you need a good muti-meter to assist you in these types of repair. Good Luck
