Take the big fuses out and use a multimeter to check continuity of each. There is also a fusible link, but it doesn't sound like that was blown.

Try to reset unit to factory defaults. There may be a button for that or a code to do it with. If nada available, contact mfg for the hidden code if one

not just a fuse,.... a convergence chip, resistors and microfuses. Either change out all those parts or the entire convergence board.

Recommend opening it up and looking at the power board and see if there are any visible Bulged or leaking capacitors.
Bad caps are a major source of computer and LCD no post problems.
If you find em, then just find replacements with the same uF and voltage and solder them out/in.

We had the same problem. What we did was unplug our DVR box from Comcast to reset it and plugged it back in and the picture came back.

It could be a microfuse, which is about impossible to repair. You should test the computer on an external monitor and then, when it works fine (which it probably will), you can either find a place on the internet that will fix the motherboard or you can replace the motherboard. I haven't been able to fix any of these dark screen problems in Macs, because it's usually a microfuse or the video card that goes out. I don't think it's as simple as a backlight or inverter board, which are really robust in these laptops and rarely (never in my experience) the fault.

The issue that you are having is with your small signal board and it needs to be replaced, it sounds like the microprocessor on that board is getting locked up.
