I have a MacBook Pro running Leopard 10x5.6 I have tried to match it with an hp 2200 laser printer. I have downloaded the correct driver and can print single pages just fine. However when I try to print multiple pages, like loan documents, the printer stops between each page and then starts printing again then stops then starts. I printed the same docs from a pc to a hp 4000 and the docs printed at the correct speed. I just got off the phone with the Apple tech. dept. and they simply said go to the Apple.com web site and check out the printers that are offered there. I print hundreds and hundreds of documents per run and the average office Laser printer is not reliable for that kind of volume. That's why I'm looking for an older hp printer that is made for this kind of work but does not carry the new printer price Any ideas on why this combination of MacBookPro-hp 2200 does not work right? The Apple tech agreed with my theory that the upgraded .pdf program (Adobe Acrobat) and .tif programs have moved beyond what these older printers can decipher at least at normal speed. Anybody having similar problems?

Unfortunately, the Lexmark C500 printer's support ends up to Mac 10.5 operating system only. There's no available driver for Mac 10.6.3. That would explain why you can't install the printer in your computer. Hope I can assist you more on this.
Just download the PPD Installer from here: AW4N_OSX then install the driver. Use System Preferences -> Print and Fax to create new Xante Printer using Default or Apple Talk section of Control Panel.
mac book pro has a usb cable right? you can actually use it to connect to the r2400 and then dont use a guten driver use the downloadable driver for r2400 for leopard instead
Macintosh OS X 10.5 drivers for your product are available for download from the Epson support site.
1. Go to the Epson support website (www.epson.com/support).
2. Select your product model and download the driver for OS X 10.5 Leopard operating system.
Note: Be sure to select the appropriate driver compatible with your system: PowerPC or Intel Intel based.
Same problem.
Plus I am trying to find a legitimate download for a 12/600 printer driver that will let me print from my new MacBook Pro running Jaguar.
