Toshiba that uses CT-90040 remote

TV bought 2nd hand.  Can change chanels ok with cable remote but have to use TV remote to change volume button.  And can't tune video into tv.

My son has pressed a button on the remote to make it have subtitlles and ive tryed every button to get rid of it can you tell me how to get rid of it?! its annoying!

Is the cable remote a programmable universal? If so, just a matter of finding the codes to reprogram functions.
Concerning the "tuning video", are you saying that you can't get to different input sources?

If this is a time warner cable remote. the toshiba code is 015. sometimes a tv has several codes but only one controls everything. dont understand tuning video into tv. sounds like u need to plug rca wire into input plugs on the front or rear and then move switch to video but dont know what wires u r using.

How can i reset the toshiba 61A60
Disconnect the AC power for at least one minute to reset the clock.
Adjust the volume to the minimum using the Volume down button on the front of the unit.
Press and hold the Volume down button on the front of the unit and the 0 button on the remote control at the same time, holding them down for at least 10 seconds.
The user menu will appear with the V-Chip cursor blinking.
Press the ENTER key on the remote control and the NEW PASSWORD menu will appear.
Enter your new password.
The V-Chip is bypassed by holding the zero key on the original remote hand unit, and at the sane time holding down the volume down on the front of the TV set. This should reset the oide so you can enter a new one.

I bought a Toshiba TV with remote CT90326 from a friend who had a different service (satellite) and I have cable and the remote works to turn on the TV , punch in specific channels, and to change volume,...
Press menu on remote, then setup, select cable/ant, then select whichever service you have. before leaving menu select AUTO TUNING.
That should find the channels available on whichever service you have.
if that doesn't work try this link, you'll probably have to copy and paste it.

Nothing is working but the volume and mute buttons,i cant turn it on or off or change the channel with the remote,the menu button doesnt work either,nothing nut the volume and mute
Some of these remotes are also made to run other components,so be sure to press the "tv" button and try the vol and channel again!

Changing channels by itself
bought beko 32 wlu520hd when i change channel or volume the white indicator light on the tv flashes and starts going through all channels or volume just keeps going up .as if im holding down the buttons when im not , buttons on tv and remote do not respond. until i rub my finger over the senser on the tv, it stops but as soon as i press any button on the tv or remote it starts all over again .is this a fault in tv or is it static build up, does any one have the same problem , ive been on the beko web sight and cant find anything about this

I contacted Toshiba. Take out the batteries. Press every button on the remote. But the batteries back in. The remote will work because you just reset it.

You have to have a remote control to set the chanel to 00. You cannot set the chanel to 00 with the chanel buttons on the front of the tv.
