Apps do not move to external SD

The option exists, the SD is recognized, 2-3 secs after tapping the screen "move to SD", it says "Sorry can't move the app". Otherwise read/write on the SD works fine. And internal memory of course is full and apps may crushe.

SOURCE: Downloads are not working..store says i have them but they are not on my tablet

There are very few app that really work with this tablet. You have to move everything you install pretty much to the memory card, and install an external memory card of about 16Gs to keep it fast unless you keep it as Cameron the factory. You have to knee trying in trail and error. Install the apps you like and remove the excess and the ones that do nothing for your system to operate.

We have a lenovo tab2 A8, with a 64 GB microSD card installed. With both netflix & amazon prime video, in options, there is no selection to download to the SD card instead of the internal storage.

First, go to Settings > Storage and check if the "Default write disk" is set to "SD card". Then go to Settings > Apps and swipe to the left until you get to "SD card". Below will be all the Apps that can be be moved to the external SD card. Click in the box on the right and another page will come up. About in the middle of the page will be "MOVE TO SD CARD" tab. Tap on it and wait until it finishes. Then go back and pick another App to move. You should be able to download apps directly to the external SD card. I haven't done that on this device and not all apps will download to the external SD card (the app maker can restrict downloads to only the internal memory. This tablet is one of the rare few Android devices that allow moving Apps to external memory.

How do I download apps onto this device?

The default on most tablets is to install apps to internal storage so the SD card does no good by itself. You can go into Settings>Applications and change the location for each app to the SD card. Likewise anything else you put on a tablet, particularly photos and videos get stored in internal storage. If you have taken a lot of photos and videos they can fill up your storage quickly. You can change this in the Camera app by tapping the settings icon and changing the storage option to SD card. You will still need to actually move existing photos and videos to the SD card manually or copy them to external storage and delete them. I would also change the image and video resolution in Camera settings to 640x480. This is plenty good enough for pictures you just want to look at on the device or share online.

I bought sd card for it. want to download apps to it not to internal or nand memory. help please

That is not an easy thing to do. The best you can do is download the apps to the internal memory and then touch them one by one and see if there is an option to MOVE them to the external SD card. It has been my experience that not very many can be moved.

Hasn't saved anything to the memory card because his tablet won't allow him to .. It keeps saying not enough space it's a 8GB memory card

The internal memory cards of some Android devices are partitioned for app storage and installation. Some of them have partitions that are quite small such as one Gigabyte or smaller. The remainder of the storage cannot be used for apps.

If it keeps saying not enough memory space then chances are the app partition is full. The only way to free up some space is to uninstall some apps that are stored there but not being used. You can see which apps can be uninstalled in Settings > Apps and look at them one by one to see if an uninstall option is listed. Simply click *uninstall* to remove them from the app storage partition. This will free up some extra space for some new apps or for updates to older apps you still like and use.

Also some of the apps might show an option to move them to an external SD card (if your device has a slot for one and if an SD card in inserted therein). Do move any and all to the external SD card of you have that option as that will also free up that space from the internal SD card.

How do i move apps to sd

Depends a little on the make/model and version of Android, but in general,
  1. Tap on "Settings" either on the home screen, or on the apps page
  2. When the "Settings" page opens, scroll down and tap on "Apps"
  3. Slide the Apps screen that opens to the left, until "ALL" is highlighted.
  4. slide down to the first App you wish to move. Tap on it
  5. in the detail screen for that App which opens, Tap on "Move to SD Card" and it will be relocated to the SD card!
Note that some Apps, and all system apps, cannot be moved to the SD card, and the "Move to SD Card" button for them will be greyed out and unavailable. Note also that a few Apps will not run properly from the SD and will have to be moved back - simply done as when selecting any App that's been moved to the SD, instead of "Move to SD Card", the same button will now say "Move to Tablet"

I have an irulu tablet. I inserted a 32gb sd card. It says it is mounted and when i try to install an app from the google play store i get the message there is insuficient space available. how do i get it...

Most apps do not natively install to an SD card when downloaded from the play store. You have to have an app like AppManager, that has a function to 'move' apps from internal storage to an SD card, or use a manual option in the Android Settings section to move each app individually.. If you are that tight on space that you cannot load any new app, you may have to delete or move something from your internal storage so you can download AppManager or some similar app, and then move as many apps as you can to your SD card. If you have a lot of photos and music you can try moving that to the SD card if your player/viewer software will allow you to find it there. Best way to move bulk items (music/photos, not apps) is to connect to a PC through USB, which brings up your internal storage and the SD card as external USB storage items. Then copy from internal storage to SD card through your PC. Best to establish folders on the SD card to hold these items and then tell your app where they are.
