Where is the battery on the life fitness 95xi

Just bought a used elliptical 95xi, it runs very rough- it almost seems like there is too much tension and when I up the level of resistence it becomes very rough to ride.There is a clanking noise as well...

If it was used from a gym then it probably needs a ton of professional work. If it came used from a residential setting then it probably doesn't need much, but still needs professional service.
