Problems with Q1 intercom reception/background noise
I have the Scala rider Q1 and I am having problems with the intercom side of this device. When making use of the intercom system to communicate with the other paired helmet there is a background noise like bad reception when talking. Please how do I fix this ??
Reseption between 2 paired units come and go and when you talk there is a noise like wind that is blowing but you are not moving. Somone recemend to take the spunch off the mouth pease, but i do not want to damage the unit.Reseption between 2 paired units come and go and when you talk there is a noise like wind that is blowing but you are not moving. Do the 2 units pair up when you switch on ? If they do try swapping the units to see if the problem changes from one helmet to the other.
If it does then the problem is with one of the units, if it stays with one helmet then it may be a wiring problem to the speakers. If they dont pairup when you switch on try re-setting the pairing and start again. With the unit turned on, press and hold the CTRL button for 6 seconds till the light flashes red then blue rapidly then press the volume up button for 3 secs, the red/blue should flash 5 times to confirm reset done. Then re pair the units for intercom, switch both units on, when they are flashing slow blue on one unit press the CTRL and Intercom Buttons simultaneously for 6 secs so the red light flashes rapidly, repeat for the 2nd unit, they should both go to a solid red light within a few seconds then slow flash blue to show they have paired for intercom use. If this does not cure the problem you will probably have to send the units for repair.
Hope this helps

Please find here a link to google search where the first 2 results are for the scala rider headset http://www.google.com/search?q=scala rider user manual
i have the tom tom rider 2 its a great bit of kit but i disconnected the scala cardo headset for helmets so that i cold try a different bluetooth headset for use in a car and it didnt work i then tryed to recconect it to my tom tom and it cant find it when searching for it what do i do ? what have i done?
I had a similar problem when I first connected my Cardo Scala Rider set to the helmet. First off, make sure that the volume on the Zumo is set to 100% for BOTH guidance and mp3 functions. Then click the upper control on the Cado Scala to maximize the volume of the headset. When you've accomplished those two electronic hurdles, adjust the location of the speakers in the helmet - if location of the speakers is not optimized nothing you do with the electronics will have much effect. I typically run the mp3 volume at 20% and the GPS at 50% with the headset volume at halfway. My Cardo Scala unit is a Teamset and I sometimes have problems hearing my rider scream that I'm going too fast. I haven't bothered yet to tell her to keep the microphone closer to her lips.
