XBOX not connecting to LG flatscreen -no visuals only sound
After speaking with customer service at XBOX, Time Warner ( cable provider) and LG, I am very disappointed The XBOX live was working fine on Saturday, Sunday morning we decided to hook it up to a new LG30 HD flatscreen TV I purchased for my son. The X ox has one large connector cable that runs from the consule to the TV, the plug in side of the consule is one plug but it seprates into 6 cables group into two sets to plug into the back of the flatscreen. the groups are the following colors blue green, red and then yellow red and white. thanks
kristine IO first plugged in the blue green red and then for audio the red and white. However this only produced sound no video at all. We were plaing all plugs along hte same line which reads COmponent. When taking the red and white audio out an pluggin them in above onthe AV IN audio red and white lines, we no longer had sound
One thing we were able todtermine. We tried hooking up another device to teh flatscreen, we succeeded in hooking up an old VCR using hte yellow cable ( Video) and the red and white cables ( AV IN red and white) we had btoh sound and video.
I did the switch thing to HDTV , that switch is on the cable of the xbox consule whcih leads to the tv, any other suggestions why I am getting sound but not visuals? thanks

Unless your situation is different from most of us, you only have one Internet Service Provider (ISP). That could be Comcast, Time Warner Cable, Verizon or another provider. Generally speaking, every home/apartment has only one provider feeding Internet to that location. If you have a separate detached home, you may have a choice of who will install Internet service in your house, but if you live in an apartment, you may have to use the provider that the rental company allows to provide service.
Either way, once you have Internet service, you must use that provider for Netflix until you switch to another provider. I personally just switched from Time Warner Cable to a local company offering gigabit fiber optic Internet service. I had the fiber optic cable installers leave the coaxial cables that Time Warner ran through my house, but those cables are no longer connected to Time Warner's system.
How do I log in?
Initial access to TWC WiFi requires the user provide log in
credentials that identify the user as a current, qualified TWC
Residential or Business Class customer. Credentials can either be a TWC
ID and Password or Time Warner Cable email and password.
First, make sure you are within range of a TWC WiFi Hotspot and that the WiFi feature on your mobile device is turned on.
Select TWCWiFi from available wireless networks.
Open your browser. The TWC WiFi Connection page will appear.
If you're a Standard Internet customer or above, enter your credentials. You can either use your TWC ID or your Time Warner Cable email and password.
If you're not a Standard Internet customer or above, request a 30-minute free trial or purchase a TWC Access Pass for as little as $2.95/hour.
Accept the Terms of Use, click Submit and connect.
Just you to your sister, and nobody else? All the time? Complain to Earthlink. They will probably give you an excuse, like "that happens from time to time". Real answer: cheap internet connections and software that drops out.
We have our own VoIP box that cost $50 (ObiTalk), pay $60 a year to PhonePower (one of many), and have had rock steady connections. We get free Canada calls, and a half hour of free overseas every month. If you pay more than $5 a month rethink your provider.
hello there i have built many wifi networks and install networks for server hosts. I would try setting your port forward to the correct port that xbox live runs on. also uncheck Qos (quality of service) this will throttle bandwidth, you want this off.
Yes there is a simple solution. First, for some reason., Time Warner cable boxes have SERIOUS HDMI issues, including no pic, intermittent pic and sound and the one that you are having. The easy fix is to hook the TV to the cable box using the component connections instead of the HDMI. Normally I would suggest getting the cable box replaced, but I have seen customers exchange cable boxes 3 or 4 times and still have the problem or have a new problem. Use the component connections and be sure to let me know if this works. If it does, be sure to rate this solution. Thanks!
What you need to do is contact the manufacturer of either your remote control otherwise the manufacturer of the Time Warner [aka: cable providers some times also have the info on file for their customers] they store the code information within their internal systems for their customers such as yourself. Otherwise there is normally a paper insert with the remote control or the Time Warner that would list the info for select manufacturers on there. Toshiba has pretty universal IR signals/codes so you should be okay when trying to program in the codes. The manufacturers can also assist you through the steps--believe me it can get frustrating some times!
