Xbox 360 Pro : To Play This Disk Error

This is going to be a bit long -- but very detailed, so please read it carefully. There are several reasons that an xbox 360 system will have problem reading discs. The error messages also vary from unreadable disk, no message at all but the game skips, "please insert disc in a 360 console" to "open tray." There are a few reasons this may happen:

1.Bad disc. Check the back of your disc for scratches. If it looks good (or plays fine in another console), then the disc is probably fine. Also-- try more than 1 game to be sure.

2. Bad laser. The XBox 360 has a DVD drive very similar to a PC's DVD drive inside. The drive contains a bunch of parts including a few motors and gears and a laser.The laser is the part that actually reads the disc. The reality is...with all the hours and hours of game play, lasers do eventually wear out. The laser isn't very easy to replace, but it is replaceable. 3.Bad DVD Drive. Sometimes other components inside of the DVD drive can become bad such as the motor that spins the disk, the motors that open the tray, etc, etc. You can get a new DVD drive to just replace everything,including the laser, in one shot but there is a catch. The XBOX 360's DVD drive is tied to the motherboard using a software lock.The easiest way to overcome this lock is to buy the exact same manufacture DVD drive that is in your system now, remove the circuit board from the old DVD drive (which contains the software key) and transfer the circuit board into the new DVD drive that you purchase. If you do this simple procedure, there is no flashing involved. Depends.....Arcade costs 16990,pro costs 21990,elite is 27990....buying an arcade wud be useless as u would hav to purchase a hard drive which again is 5000 so the best buy rite now wud be a pro...

I had this same problem a year after I purchased my first Xbox 360. Most of the time this problem is due to dust and dirt getting sucked into the system by the terrible cooling system that the older Xbox 360s have. If your Xbox 360 is over 2 years old then most likely this is your problem. these Xboxes are made to stand up not lay down so if yours is laying down try tilting it upright and play it that way. This fixes the problem 80% of the time. You can also try to blow into some of the openings on your Xbox to get the dirt and dust out but I must admit this rarely works. If after trying both of these things you still have the problem, then it must be fixed by opening up the Xbox and determining the problem with the laser or disk drive. This costs time and money so you better hope that my first two solutions work!

check around the disk tray for dust and gentaly clean with a hoover also use a wet cd lens cleaner, this should solve the error but it may be that your dvd drive laser has died

Your old xbox is not up to date, so it is reading it wrong. Just because the older they are if not updated on live it will read games and DVDs wrong.

If it only freezes on that game, chances are it's the disk that's causing the problems. I've experienced that some xbox games act up if only the slightest scratch is on the disk. If there is, either take it back or pay a few bucks for Best Buy or some video rental place to repair it for ya.

Since your Xbox is brand new, you can just install Fable 2 to the hard disk of your xbox 360. I didn't have this problem with Fable 2 - but that's maybe because I installed it to the HD from the start. Fallout 3 did freeze on me, but installing it to the HD fixed the issue. Don't get any ideas though, you still need to insert the disk if you want to play ;-)

This is how you do it:

1. Load the disk into your Xbox 360 console and go to your Xbox 360 console
2. Scroll down to My Xbox
3. Scroll across to Game Library and hit the A button
4. This should put you on the Recent Games window and your game should be highlighted, so you should just need to hit the A button. Otherwise, scroll to the Recent Games window and choose the game.
5. On the game screen, choose Install to Hard Drive. This process should take a few minutes, but once it is complete, you'll be able to enjoy improved performance.

You'll also note that the game screen contains all kinds of great information about the game such as the achievements unlocked and featured downloads available for the game.

no you cant really download any game unless it is an arcade game but if your disk tray problem isnt fixed you could always change your face plate that was always my problem with my disc tray if you cant fix it thaT way you could check for a warranty and send your x box in

The Arcade model comes with no harddrive, no hdmi (for digital connection to an HDTV), and I beleive the controller is wired instead of wireless. If you are planning on just playing games then the arcade may be a good choice for you as it's cheaper but you may find yourself wanting a hard drive sooner than later. Without a hard drive you will not be able to purchase or rent movies and you will not be able to download game demos and Xbox Live Arcade games. To compensate Microsoft includes a disc with some of the greatest hits of XBox Live Arcade with the Arcade version. The Pro comes with a 20GB hard drive but still no HDMI. The Elite version has a 120GB hard drive and HDMI. For most people the Pro is the one to get. If you were to get the Arcade then purchase a hard drive later you will pay more than the price of the pro.

Ok i know how to solve your problem. First you must go on the xbox sit and download or buy and update disc. Then put it in your xbox and follow the on screen instructions.
