There should be 2 rows of pins in parallel usually around the bottom edge of the motherboard. The markings for which is which should be next to them on the board. HDled+, HdLed-, PwrSw, PwrLed, or something similar.

If you do find them but the hard drive Led does'nt come on it's because the plug for it needs to be turned around the opposite way, Led's only work one way as they are diodes. Same for the Power Led.

If there are no letters near the pins then you would have to find the motherboard manual.

There are may motherboards, but most have writing on them as to what is suppose to plug where. For example, for the power switch, the lettering might be "Pwr" or "Power" or "Pwr sw". The pins are usually together and should fit the plug on the end of the wire.

open up you pc case...mind out for static! dont touch what you dont have to and look for a printed ( normaly white ) motherboard model id..this might be the name of a manufacurer or just a few letters and numbers plus a revision number at the end. armed with these, trot of to google and stab them in. you should see a host of sites, but look for one that is the support site for your board...track down you board on the support/download site and there should be a manual & drivers ect to help you :)

I've built a PC myself, each connector had text on it to say what it was and one arrow on it in relief, don't know wether that indicated plus or minus anymore.
Anyway, I recommend you just plug them in, and try to boot the PC. If it doesn't boot, switch the Power SW connector around, then it should boot. Do the same with the LED connectors, and it should work just fine!

Take a picture of your motherboard and then make printed copy. Call the technical service department and give them the make of your computer and model number, also give them the name of the motherboard and its model number with revisions. Ask them to look up the wiring diagram showing the external connector hook-up from the case to the motherboard. Write down the pin connections on the photo. You can share this information with other people who are having the same problems. Remember to always take a pictures of your set up before disassembling the unit. So you can reassemble the unit correctly. These units are so proprietary that it is almost impossible to find this information without their help. Hope this helps you with your problem.

The front panel connectors are mainly,

• harddisk activity connector
• power switch connector
• reset switch connector
• power LED connector
• speakers connector
• USB connector

Harddisk activity connector
This normally comes red in colour and is labeled as HDD-LED
Power switch connector
This comes green in colour and is labeled as POWER-SW
Reset switch connector
This usually comes grey in colour and is labeled as RST-SW
Power LED connector
This is usually green in colour and is labled as PWR-LED
Speakers connector
This speaker will give different beep sounds during boot to tell the user if there is any errors. It occupies 4 pins, however only 2 is important for the function. Be sure to connect the red coloured cable to the positive polarity and the black to the negative.

check on the motherboard there should be a small prints on it near control panel.

if u look real close to the pins on the board they will say pwd led and power sw ect ect please keep me posted if you need more help identifying these pins

Some vary with respect to wire color. You're case's LED's are no different. You must find the common color for ground. Usually ground is the color white but can also be black. Colors like blue, green & red are normally power +. If I understand what you are saying above is, this case uses three pin connectors. The middle pin is not used. So you need to remove the wires to make it a two pin connector. This will leave on empty pin hole, (not used).
It is not uncommon for you to remove the wire out of the case pin connector & relocate the wire making it a two pin connector. To do this (remove the wire from a case connector & replace it to function as a two pin connector). Find a large needle. On one side of the plastic pin connector you'll see a piece of metal. It locks into the pin connector. Press the needle onto the metal & pull the wire at the same time. Pushing on the metal will depress its locking ability & the wire will slide out easily. (If it does not come out easily than you must be pushing at the wrong end of the metal). Look closely, one end will depress.
Arrange the + & - wire next to each other so it will work on you're board as shown in you're manual.

Most Mobo's have printing next to the places that are jumpered or pluged into. The ones you need sould be close to the edge of the mobo, that is close to the front {power button} side.
