Which phone password are you trying to deactivate? These days phones have multiple passwords and/or codes, you're going to have to specify which one you want to deactivate for a specific answer.

Most security options can be changed by going to "settings => More => Security"

You can also set (or remove) a password for your lock screen. This can be done by going to "Settings => Lock Screen => Screen lock"
