It will automatically default to default background directory. When the default directory opens look up top and there will be a browse photo button. Click on it and then choose C: drive and then the directory or folder your pics are in.

find the photo (from internet,store on pc or flash drive) you like to have as background (its called wallpaper)...see the file /photo right click on the photo save as wallpaper...apply...you are done

When a background switching malfunction occurs, "F" and "4" will display alternately on the function number display panel of the scanner.

Wipe the top and bottom glasses located inside the ADF with the Cleaner F1 and check if the problem persists.

If turning on the scanner again does not recover the situation, then follow the procedures provided below:
1 Does the same symptom occur after turning OFF and ON the scanner? Press power button of the scanner for more than 2 seconds to turn it OFF, and after more than 2 seconds elapse, press the power button to turn the scanner ON.
2 Are the cables between the Control PCA and the BW Motor damaged? Or are the connectors connected correctly?


3 Is the white reference work properly? If not, then replace the BW Motor.Perform background changeover test.
4 Is the OPT Unit installed correctly? Check ADF (Front) and ADF (Back)
5 Replace the Control PCA and see if the error is resolved.
6 Replace the OPT Unit and see if the error is resolved.

This is a fairly common problem with copiers. It is usually caused by a dirty optical path, an overtoned condition, or failing developer. If you are qualified to do so, I would say clean the optical path by removing the glass and cleaning the underside of the glass and all the mirrors.

Try and scan a white paper. If the output is black, then may be the LEDs are not glowing, likely the wire is loose. Actually it is not easily reacheable! Try duplex scanning to check if both scan modules are fine.

To add background sound to an email in Outlook:

• Create a new message using HTML formatting in Outlook.
• Download the following file to your Desktop: zbgsound.htm.
• Start Notepad.
• Open the zbgsound.htm file you just downloaded in Notepad.
• Replace ###path to background sound file### with the path to the desired background sound file.
  • The line could read <img src="C:\Documents and Settings\lsdoe\My Documents\My Music\lsdoem.mid" id="bgsound", for example.
• Select File | Save from the menu.
• In the Outlook message, select Insert | File... from the menu.
• Go to your Desktop.
• Highlight zbgsound.htm.
• Click on the right down arrow of the Insert button.
• Select Insert as Text.
• Continue editing your message.

I hop that helped, it looks complicated buts its not. Basically if you know how html works your email allows html you just put the html code for teh music in it.
