Hello Sir i purchased 500 GB seagate 500GB free agent go hard disk 2 years before. recently i encountered the problems as follows. usb did not recognize the hard disk and it sound like sparking also white...

What sounds like sparking could be a head crash. If it is a head crash
then you are basically finished with the drive. They all go sometime.
The only safe way is to have another backup drive and keep a current second
copy of all information which you must save. Even this procedure is not
completely safe.
The hard drive should not make any noticeable sound (not more than a fan
sound). If it does, then it is probably dead or about to die. If the information
on the drive is IMPORTANT, then you can contact a data disc recovery site
which can help you with removing most of the data from a crashed disc.
I pioneered this recovery system idea many years ago and several companies
exist now to recover data from crashed discs.

Not really a problem...yet...I have Verizon and have 6100F Westell Modem/Router. I would like to purchase a blue ray player and get Netflix...I know I need a blue ray player that works with Netflix...what...

If your object is to get Netflix on your TV, and not knowing what brand or model TV you have nor whether or not you have an existing wi-fi system, that question is a little difficult to answer. For example, I have Suddenlink cable, wi-fi, and can access Netflix and other similar providers through either my TV or TiVo, although I always go through TiVo. You may need to update your TV.

Do i need a wireless router if i have westell 6100f

Yes. The Westell 6100f is not a wireless modem, therefore, you will need to get a wireless router to connect wireless computers.

Or if your ISP is Verizon and you want a wireless modem/router, you may contact them and replace the Westell 6100f with a Westell Versalink 327w, or Westell 7500, or an Actiontec.

Hope this helps!

Westell 6100F: dsl lite on ,internet lite blinks/steady, data light out and stays out, no internet, no network device or dsl modem in device mgr, called verizon they said my network card is bad, took pc to...

Try a different ethernet cable. It could be that your cable is bad. I had that happen to me before. My was from the modem to the router. If it was working at the store and not at home, then it is cable. It is should bea cheap fix.

I have DSL/verizon,modem 6100F i keep loosing my internet connection

Your problem definitely sounds like an intermittent connection problem. It can either be one of two things. #1. You have a defective modem, or #2 It's a network problem. I will definitely go with #2. Here's the thing. The problem you have is very very very common not only to Verizon DSL customers, but also to other Internet Service Providers as well. The best way to fix the problem is to understand what's causing the problem. There are two types of intermittent connection problems. The first is Intermittent Sync. You'll know if you have this problem because the DSL light will be blinking everytime you get kicked out. That means there's no internet connection, The modem cannot detect and establish a connection with the Central Office. The second is Intermittent route (which I know is you're problem), The DSL light is steady, but the Internet light almost always turns OFF or turns RED. The only way to fix this problem is to coordinate with Verizon. The reason is because the problem is outside your house. The long cable lines, the drop wire, the cables that passes through from the Central Office to your House can all be damaged, If that's the case, then a technician is required to go out and fix the problem. Don't worry about calling Verizon, this is a network problem and you won't be charge for anything. I know losing internet connection is very frustrating. Give your ISP a chance, they will definitely fix the problem if you give them the opportunity to do so.

Red Internet Light on Westell model 6100F

hi rtoffler....

by the way, is the dsl light solid green or red???...and if it's red... the line connection from the server to your modem is doing good...however, you said that the internet light is red because you have not configured your modem properly.... i mean, you need to update the interface of your modem before you can go online....and whether the message said that you're connected to the network when you connect your XBox 360...the only assurance is when you can browse different websites and lets you go online...however, your pc should be in tri core so that it's compatible with your Xox 360 video game, kkk and so that you would not encounter problems and errors in the future,kkk....and by the way...the data light is always blinking esp if you're browsing websites, the faster it'll blink nd it can't go on a solid green light anyways...,,kkk....and i do hope i was able to configure a little to your concern now....and enjoy playing and downloading more and chanllenging and fun games with your Xbox 360k,,,,happy playing games, rtoffler!!!!! and happy new year by the way!!!!...:-D
