Address book is empty, even after we try to put an address in. Music mode is on and I can't turn it off. On the GPS status 3D is lit and I think all but one bar was lit. The map is correct and as we travel it shows the area we are in, but we can't get it to navigate to an address. We bought the external antenna and everything worked for about a year. We also added the DVD update Q1-06 about a year ago. The problem with the ALARM Demo Mode is new. We are getting ready for a trip and need this GPS to work again. I love the big screen and all the features. Sure hope you can help! I was looking for a model no. but don't see one. It's the I way 500c.
Sometimes these will go into demo mode for no apparent reason. You can access the diagnostics screen by holding the map/music button while powering up. Be careful which buttons you press in this mode - select only the on-screen buttons, not the hard-buttons as they adjust brightness and contrast. Select the correct operating mode and power the unit off, then on.
