I bought a new Fable 2 and it still freezes while loading my guy.
I bought a new Fable 2, because my old one was scratched and would play every now and then, but I am having the same problem I had on my old disk, every time I try to load my first character, it says Loading Bowerstone Marketplace, and then it freezes halfway through it...
I have downloaded it onto my harddrive and I bought the game today..

Sounds like the save file is corrupt. You may want to see if you can't load a old save, or you might need to start again. It's a bummer, but these things happen, sorry :(
Hey I had the same problem it would stop freezing while loading a demon door. And what have to do is go to system settings then memory then press Y on your harddrive. When you get there click clear cache this will get rid of your updates don't worry it won't effect anything its just every game you play you have to update. But when you go into fable it will say update say no play offline and it should work if that doesn't make anysense just say and ill try to make it for descripted.Hey I had the same problem it would stop freezing while loading a demon door. i do not think someone has experienced something like this but you could always try saving the game to the hard drive before you play and playing it off the harddrive which would make sense to work but if this has not fixed it, it means you have had a damaged fable 2 in your hardrive at one point and the only fix would be is to try to get a new xbox 360 if you are really keen on playing this game
Try your Fable 2 disc on a friend's console that you know works and see if it plays. This would rule out the possibility of it being your Xbox for sure. Then it would have to be the game. If you didn't buy it too long ago, look inside the game package and find Fable 2's tech support number or go to their website and try to get a hold of them. Good Luck!
This could be caused by the save file, have you tried to use the game without your old save on? If you have, you may need to contact microsoft live support for more help.
I had the same problem with my 360 and ES4: Oblivion. There are a possible two problems with your 360. Your laser might be dirty. The thermal paste between you GPU and CPU is wearing thin and heating *********** board too fast. Or it could be as simple as there might be a scratch that is in a circular pattern on the disc.
Since your Xbox is brand new, you can just install Fable 2 to the hard disk of your xbox 360. I didn't have this problem with Fable 2 - but that's maybe because I installed it to the HD from the start. Fallout 3 did freeze on me, but installing it to the HD fixed the issue. Don't get any ideas though, you still need to insert the disk if you want to play ;-)
This is how you do it:
Load the disk into your Xbox 360 console and go to your Xbox 360 console
Scroll down to My Xbox
Scroll across to Game Library and hit the A button
This should put you on the Recent Games window and your game should be highlighted, so you should just need to hit the A button. Otherwise, scroll to the Recent Games window and choose the game.
On the game screen, choose Install to Hard Drive. This process should take a few minutes, but once it is complete, you'll be able to enjoy improved performance.
You'll also note that the game screen contains all kinds of great information about the game such as the achievements unlocked and featured downloads available for the game.
check to see if anything is obscuring the disc tray on opening and closing. If there isnt check the disc make sure its smooth and flat no bumps and not bent
if there is noises like grinding when playing it may be a part inside causing this
i suggest calling xbox because i dought u want to risk doing this to other games.
OK so i posted my problem yesterday 25/03/09 about fable 2 freezing... I didn't take the advice from xbox i decided to download the game onto my hardrive and it seems to be working fine now I have played for a few hours with no problems just made sure that i go into the game library and click on the fable 2 game and then take the oiption play from hardrive hope this helps others that are having trouble i'll keep you all updateds if i incure any other problems with it... good luck and happy gaming everyone
