Emachine t1842 no responce to power up - E-Machines eMachines Desktop PC

I've had quite a few of these in my shop, and the problem is usually the power supply. Additionally, when the power supply goes out, it can do damage to the motherboard as well. First try swapping out the power supply and if that doesn't fix it, you will probably need a new motherboard.

I had this happen to my emachines T1842 about a year ago. I replaced the power supply and it worked fine. It was about 25 bucks but fixed my problem. Make sure the red switch on the back hasnt been messed with. it should be on 115. If you have moved it, it may have blown a fuse inside the power supply.

Need more information but sounds like your optical drive may be failing or you have a software problem. Need more info please.

Download the realtek Audio Driver ver. 5.10.0.3900 from http://www.emachines.com/support/drivers.html

and install it. If you still don't get audio. Please get yourself a PCI Sound card and install it in your CPU.

most likeley if you see something on the screen but it wont boot it is a mem problem, does it load bios, if so it is prob not memory

hi.. even i too had the same problem.. The solution is in device manager if u select USB option u will be able to see 6 USB sub options popping down from the menu... select each option and right click it... u can see the option uninstall.. try to uninstall all the 6 ports in that device manager.. after clciking uninstall option shut down ur system and restart it again.. now ur USB ports are ready to work...

I had the same issue. I know the problem. Your power source is not working proprietly and you need to change it.

I have the same problem with the emachines E14Te monitor. I have emailed emachines support several times and no responce. Iave tried calling, and vet the computerized maze of press the number for X department. I have yet to talk to anyone in their support problem area.
