My new phoenix manual folding treadmill does not have enough friction - how tight should the belt be? I feel like I will slip off the back now.

To tighten the belt, start by locating the two bolts that adjust the rear roller (one on each side of the unit in the back). Run the unit at about 3 mph. Tighten the bolts a 1/4 turn at a time. Make sure that what you do to one side, you MUST do to the other side or the belt will get off center. After you tighten it 1/4 turn, check the belt to see if it is still slipping. If it is then tighten the belt 1/4 turn again. Continue until the belt does not slip, but do not tighten the bolts more than 2 full turns.

I have noticed a few times that my f3 life fitness treadmill changes pace on me, and so does the incline. i can see it on the monitor, also it has started feeling like the belt is catching or something, or...

It might just need a simple adjustment of the running belt that can eliminate the slipping refer to you owner's manual for the procedure. It will be close to all treadmill adjustments.
Here is a generic procedure for adjusting the belt:
If the walking belt slips when walked on. Run the treadmill @ 3 to 4 mph, walk for a few minutes, Using the allen wrench, turn both rear roller adjustment bolts clockwise, 1/4 of a turn. Then repeat adjusting procedure until walking belt is properly tightened.

How to do you adjust the belt on a Pro form crosswalk 380? The belt is getting loose and I lost the manual.

To adjust the belt: Less Belt Tension: turn both adjustment bolts on back of treadmill in a counter-clockwise direction. More Belt Tension: Turn both adjustment bolts equally in a clockwise direction. Center Adjustment (moves belt center to the left): Turn left-side adjustment bolt counter-clockwise. Center Adjustment (moves belt center to the right): Turn the left-side adjustment bolt clockwise.
An over tightened walking belt can raise the amp draw of your treadmill, contribute to seam separation on the walking belt, or both, so do not over tighten the walking belt.
You should be able to lift the belt in the center on the side by approximately 2” to 3”, if you cannot lift it by 2” to 3”, the belt is too tight.

My treadmill belt keeps slipping when i put my weight on it. It is second hand with no manuel,I have had it 6 months and it only started slipping this last 7 days.

more than likely the drive belt needs to be tightened. This is done by removing the lower cover. Should be 2 screws in the rear and 2 screws on the bottom to remove it. Then there is an adjustable bracket on the motor. Hope this helps, Tim

Walking belt folds

It sounds like one of the adjusted bolts or endcaps that adjusts the walk belt is broken, look at the bolts where you adjust and see if the side the belt is shifting to is broken. It may have ruined the belt also but you wont be able to tell till you correct the tracking problem.
