I have a CT5803 Dell Sound Card with 4 intermal pinsets, I need to hook Up speaker to speaker out and need information about its use!

16 bit sound cards usually have 3 pin out or jack on the card, one is line in, one is line out and one is for the mic.

the line out is used for your computer speakers, plug in the green colored jack from your speaker into the line out jack and you hear whatever your playing on your computer, ie: music TV or internet broadcasts. You may have to set up the device or software settings that you are using before it properly gets the sound to go through your speakers. Some compatible or Creative Labs emulator cards have five pin outs, these are for a more sophisticated sound system like 5.1 or higher. These jacks have 3 outgoing jacks. One for center speaker then one for front and one for rear. a 6.1 system card may have a side speaker out jack also.

The CT5803 is a Creative card that was made by Creative Labs for Dell, it typically has 3 jacks. one for your speakers to plug into one for your mic to plug into and one for you to plug into an inbound sound source **** as an MP3 player. If this is not what you are talking about please re post your question and possibly clarify the information that you are trying to obtain.

Hi _ I got a new set of Bose Companion 5 - is working fine with my PC Windows Xp service pac II. suddenly the speakers go off wehile playing music & I have to restart the comp to hear music ?? Cant...

Try another set of speakers to eleiminate the BOSE speakers as being the issue (even cheap ones will do). If the problem does not re-occur, the issue is with the speakers.
If all the speaker jacks are plugged in correctly, I would consider returning this set, as it looks like the issue is within the circuitry of the Woofer

You need three ports in order to use all the speakers 5.1 sound. They are all headphone jacks but they are front speakers, rear speakers, and sub/center

Front right speaker is not working

This may sound obvious, but have you plugged in all the plugs?a 4-channel sound system has two plugs that plug into the sound card. One is for the front speakers and part of the subwoofer, the other is the rear speakers and the other part of the subwoofer. AC97 audio normally supports only 2-channel.s your sound on-board?how many sockets does it have.A common AC97 normally has a green plug (for 2.1 speakers), a blue one for line in and a red one for a mic.A four-channel one will have a black socket for the other two speakers.and 5.1 has a yellow socket for the 5th speaker and woofer.
If your AC97 audio does not have the black socket, then you will need to buy a special card, like the Sound blaster 4.1 Digital (around £20-30).Or, if you want a 5.1 card, the Creative Audigy is considered the best, as the Audigy 2 is still expensive, and there are cheaper cards for 4.1.
Hopefully this should sort out the problem.I also have Creative Inspire M4500 4.1 speakers, and they have 2 plugs.
