Kenmore Model 790.96112403 Electric Range Oven not working

Both heating elements in oven of Kenmore 790.96112403 Electric Range stopped working suddenly. The range top, clock and time all work fine. When I try to turn the oven on, I hear a "click" like a ususally do when the oven is turning on - but no heat from either element. Could it be a blown fuse in the oven? I have already tried unplugging it and also checked by house breaker box.

Testimonial: "Thank you so much! I have ruled out the bake and broil elements failing and checked the voltage out of the wall. So I am going to give the replacement of the oven control board replacement a try. Part is on the way - I will update after I replace the board."

SOURCE: Kenmore Elite 790-99513307 side by side electric

It appears your timer/clock has failed in this instance.

For replacement parts - head on over to PartSelect.com or RepairClinic.com and enter in your full model number for a full parts listing.
I recommend both sites because ...

FixYa has no affiliation with either site - I have been using and recommending them for years - trouble free.

PartSelect has a great schematic database for locating the part on your unit and great "testimonials" for each part that often times includes HOW-TO information.
RepairClinic has pictures of each part they sell and also a great how-to and troubleshooting for basic repairs.

If your unit has never been serviced - there should still be an original service manual enclosed in plastic taped to the inside of the shell.
In the service manual are Error codes, maintenance procedures, and troubleshooting steps you can follow.

Anything too complicated or beyond your scope should be handled by a professional.

If you think you want to tackle the repair - and have gotten stuck on a step - reply to your question and I will be glad to help you out.

Kenmore electric range model 790 oven stopped functioning, both broiler and bake. however, oven light still comes on.

I believe there is a thermal fuse (also called a TCO or Thermal Cut-Out) located either on the back of the oven, or between the top of the oven and the cooktop that has opened up. Did this happen after running a self-clean cycle?

I have a kenmore 953 freestanding stove, my wife was making pizza and the oven made a strange sound, the display is no longer working, the oven stopped heating, and she attempted to turn on the burners,...

If you will type "SearsPartsDirect" into your search engine, you can then enter your model number and you will see all the parts of your stove.
What should have happened was, either an element failed, or the element wire connection inside the wall of the oven failed, or a wire has "toasted" in the electric box inside the back of the stove.
You will need to take the oven out (away from it wall, perhaps) & give it a good inspection with an electric meter to find out where the problem lies.
God bless your efforts.

Kenmore range

If this range has electric elements in the oven, you may have blown one of the heating elements. Do any of the oven functions work? If you were attempting to BAKE when this occurred, have you attempted to turn on the BROILER to see if it works? If the BROILER still heats up, you may just have a bad heating element. If both features quit working, the problem may be with your Electronic Range Control (ERC) board. Post back with comments and let me know.

Kenmore Range 911.9324890

Replace recepticles for large elements. It is the part that the heating elements go into. And while you are at the appliance store, pickup a new bake element for your oven. Just unscrew element from oven wall and install new one.
