The Bell & Howell 2143 XL manual is not available for free online. However, a few sites have reprints or original copies for sale. One source: http://www.oldtimercameras.com/manuals/camera-manual-Bell-and-Howell-2143-1075.asp . There is also a repair manual available. The instruction manual is under $15 plus $8 postage.

Slide the battery cover on the bottom of the camera to open the battery compartment. Use fresh 2xAAA bateries

Check your battery or charger one of them are not working.

The battery pack might be "dead". Get a new one.

Check the arrorw mark on the batter door & slide that side

I tried the Bell & Howell website and it is of no help. I get all my replacement batteries at bestbatt.com It's hard to believe that the battery is dead after only 4 months. Li-on batteries usually have a life span of several years if they are charged regularly.

Well Bell and Howell have a website, so i would suggest rtying them first to see where the distributors local to you are. Or you can contact a camera store and see if they will accept it as a repair or supply the parts
