Hello Melinda, when the refrigerator is beeping or buzzing, it may be a warning sign of a possible malfunction or an unsafe, interior temperature. To silence the buzzer, you can depress the ALARM OFF button. However, if you have already done this, try unplugging the unit or flipping the household circuit breaker for about ten minutes.

If the alarm continues, it could possibly be experiencing a communication problem with the temperature control/board, wiring failure or faulty compressor since error code 1 typically indicates an issue with the compressor. I would recommend connecting with a professional appliance tech for a clear-cut diagnosis.

With the time as the compressor gets old the buzzing will increased, its not a bid deal, just set the thermostat to 1 during the winter, saves you energy and give the compressor more time to rest.

Many times a freezer and/or refrigeratordo not work right because of a dirty condenser coil...there are also many otherthings that can go wrong. If you are hearing a clicking or buzzing thencheck out the last two tips.

Plug it back in. Give at least 4 hours to make sure it is cold enough. Some models have a buzzer that comes on when temp is too warm.

I think you will find that your freezer is warming up. Check the temp inside the freezer. It should be between -10 and 0 degrees. If not, your buzzer will go off until this is repaired.

the loud buzzing is the freezer high temp alarm. dont know why its warm though.
make sure you don't store anything on top of or on the sides of the unit as the condenser of most freezers are buried in the walls of the unit and it will over heat the compressor. if unit is in a hot garage this will compound the problem.

I had a similar problem yesterday. I woke up and the freezer was not working anymore. It would make a buzzing noise and then it would click and shut off. I looked online for some possible solutions. Here is what I did:
I unplugged the fridge. I pulled it out and took off the cardboard backing. I used an air compressor to blow out all of the dust and dirt that had accumulated on the condenser coils. A shop-vac just wasn't powerful enough to pull out all of the dust/dirt. After that, I plugged it back in....and the same thing was happening. It would buzz, and then it would click off. I figured out that the "click" was coming from a starter relay (a small plastic piece attached to the big black compressor). I detached the plug from the relay and then detached the relay from the compressor. The relay was burned out. It turns out this is a common problem with the relay. I replaced the relay for $50 (from an appliance parts store) and put the whole thing back together in about 10 minutes.
I plugged the fridge back in and the compressor started, and now the freezer works better than other. I saved about $400 doing it myself, all in about one hour. And better yet, my wife was very impressed. Not bad for a doctor.
