To print in a different language, your best option is to get a printwheel that contains your preferred languages special characters. You can see a list of them here:

The 8014S does not have a BOLD key. However, you can do two things to make your print darker:

(1) Set the Impression Control Switch (three dots located above the 10/12/15 selector) to the largest dot.

(2) Turn on double-strike mode by simultaneously pressing the ESC and O keys. (To turn off double-strike mode, simultaneously press the ESC and & keys.)

There is no Italics mode on the Swintec 2640 typewriter. It sounds like you are using a printwheel that is Italics, such as Courier Italics 12. To print other than Italics, you can buy a standard printwheel here:

Just make sure to choose a typestyle that is not Italics.
