My Acer X1261P Projector is stuck on one input source (VGA) and I do not have the remote to change it's settings, so I need to set the projector back to factory default settings in order for it to detect different input sources as usual.
SOURCE: pd527 not displaying vga from vista run computer
Based on my own experimentation, I have found out that if I click on the “Connect Display” button from the Windows Mobility Centre, it will auto-detect whether a monitor or projector is connected via the external display port. If it does find a display, it presents you with a new screen with an option to “Duplicate my desktop".

This is apparently a common fault and the unit must be returned to a service centre. Theyll put in a new motherboard for it and unless its under warranty this might actually be more expensive than buying a new unit.

Found reset in menu. the first time I turned it on after replacing bulb it would not let me reset, but after I turned it off then back on I was able to do it. Not sure if this was a fluke or not.
SOURCE: how achieve maximum resolution acer projector
When you connect a source to the projector, the unit will match the resolution input to it. As long as you don't exceed the max resolution, which is considerable, the unit will display it. Go into the menu and select auto-image to have the projector give you the best quality image. Hope I helped you!---Rick
