Hi i have a samsung LE40R88BDX/XEU tv with built in free view and a samsung htx-200 home theatre. The sound is fine with watching a dvd but when i try to watch digital tv through my home cinema speakers i get nothing. i have connected the tv and home cinema with a hdmi cable and also have a digital optical cable running between the two, where am i going wrong?

Matthew, I found this link which covers the basic possibilities for connections. It has a video backed up by the text version as well. Hope it helps.
On the remote control for the Samsung Home Theater System look at the bottom left to a button that says "MODE", those moods change the sound each speaker gives off. if that doesn't work, you might need new wiring because there are other wires that are more durable than the ones that come with it, much better too.

if you got all the lead you should have fibre optics which connects from dvd to tv and then set your dvd to digi in. you should get the sound. i have same cinema system and i have done the same
