Belts is the usual culprit. When replacing the drive belt also check your idler pulleys especially those plastic v-idlers as they do wera out allowing the drive belt to bottom out causing slippage even on new belts.
Check under the mower that
a. The drive belt is connect to the Hydrostatic dive (back Wheels) and check the the link connecting the peddle to the drive is moving. Also check at the back of the mower that the drive disconnect is not pulled out. Back of the Mower.
Have you checked all belts and belt tensioners? If so, you will have to tip unit up and take bottom plate off of unit. The drive system consists of a rubber lined wheel that makes contact with a friction plate once handle is depressed for drive. As you change gears you can see rubber drive wheel changes position in relation to friction disc to change speed. If belts are good, I would look in this area for problem. These rubber lined dive wheels do wear out and are replaceable. Also, on some models you can adjust further. Hope this helped. Happy wrenching!
Hi, I would check the pump out. Air maybe getting in pump. You should get a rebuild kit for pump.
Gasket(s).need to be replaced. cracked or ripped. Hope that works for you.
Try fixing this problem by making sure the belt is installed properly.. Whenever you install a drive belt it needs to be "seated". Make sure the belt is on correctly and the first time you try it out to see if the mower will move, start out in the highest gear. Hang on as it may ****, but this is the proper way to replace and seat a drive belt.
Check your battery terminals are not loose or corroded.
Check your alternator dive belt tension is OK.
If no problem with drive belt, it may be worn alternator brushes.
If the problem persists get the alternator checked.
