Sharp LCD HDTV Facedown Damaged

My wife and I recently went through a home renovation project lasting 3 months.  During that time we took down our 3 1/2 year old Sharp LCD HDTV and stored it carefully in a closet facedown, away from the potential for damage due to bumps/bruises.  This week we attempted to get the TV up and running again, only to find out that by leaving the TV facedown for an extended period of time we have somehow damaged the LCD screen (no picture).  Extended warranty expired 6 months ago.

Is there anything that can be done?  Why is there no mention of the potential for this type of damage in the owner's manual?

Sony KDF50E2000 lcd tv has burned out it's second bulb. Replacement bulb was OSRAM brand. It only lasted 10 months, now it won't come on. Should I be looking at the ballast or did I just get a poor...

Hi,Osram lamps average around 3000-4000 hrs.Normally 1 -1 1/2 yr.I do think the lamp went out.The ballast is a possibility, when it's going bad it will make clicking noises or attempts to light the bulb.I recommend to get the Original Philips lamp for they average 6000-8000 hrs 3-4 yrs.

Audio on sharp aquos lcd went out 2 years old seems problem is rampant and consumers should be reimbursed for repair by sharp.they need to stand behind their product cost to repair 350.00

Sharp is taking care of this for customers even if you are out of warranty due to a mistake on how they made the tv. All you have to do is call Sharp at 1-800-237-4277. It took my repair in NYC (MTZ electronics) shop 1 day to fix the issue. MTZ electronics even applied 2 firmware updates that all the D6U tv's need to avoid other known issues with the lcd in the future. These firmware updates are for the main cpu PH1UU112 and the monitor MD1UA104. I am so happy and am loyal to Sharp for their fantastic customer service. I also want to thank MTZ electronics for having the best customer service and being the best repair shop I have ever been to. Good luck everyone

Just replaced bulb to a phillips, lasted one month

Most systems with lamps will have a timer. If the timer gets to a certain hour the set should warn you to replace the lamp. Once you do, you have to reset the timer. If it gets to the max it will not allow you to turn it on till the timer is reset. Check your manual or call the mfg. to see how to reset. Sometimes it's the volume up and down at the same time or menu and power at the same time. They are all different so if you have no manual it's best to call tech support to get the reset steps.

Sharp Aquos 46" HDMI problem

I have a similar problem. The Sharp TV aquos appears to be shutting down my blue ray player and dvd recorder when connected via HDMI. They work fine and never close down when I connect them via the rca cables either single video connection or a composite 3 cable rca lead. I have 3 HDMI inputs on the tv and the problem occurs on all 3. Any suggestions?
