SOURCE: MAGLITE

Well, first off, you could keep the batteries out of it until you wish to use it. Secondly a model of the flashlight would be nice. Also check this http://rivergum.net/page/48 it has a disassembly instruction howto for a more common model, but I don't know exactly what kind you are using.

SOURCE: 2AA LED Maglite not working

The Led are most likely not burned out they last 10,000 hours or more. Sounds more like defect.

How can I get my Maglite working again?

Make sure you cleaned ALL the corrosion out of the battery cell, and also you may have a faulty On/Off button.?The battery contacts must be absolutely clean. That is my best assumption

My maglite recharable three battery light will not turn on. The battery is ok and bulb looks ok. I dropped it once. Need help.

Best thing to do is send in for warranty repair if the battery an bulb is OK. I would replace the bulb first to verify that it is OK. If it does not work then go to:

http://www.maglite.com/repaircenters.asp

and find the nearest repair center.

I have a 6 d cell maglite. when i removed the end cap 3 batteries came out number four is stuck in the maglite. how can i get it out?

Not sounding good. I have had the problem in the past with Mag lights and though they are good, I always seem to have battery corrosion problems. What I have done is to get a non-metalic rod, wooden doweling has worked for me, carve a bit of a blade at the end, sort of like a long screw driver and work it into and between the batter and flashlight case. Not so hard as to deform the flashlight, but to try and break the seal between the corroded (I assume) battery and the case. Spray in some WD40 and work the dowel in and around the battery. Stop on occasion and tap the open end of the flashlight on a heavy rag laid atop a piece of wood to try and jar the battery loose. By repeating this process I have been able to remove corroded batteries, but not necessarily save the flashlight, as some times the on/off switch is corroded as well. Once you get the batteries out you may be able to clean the inside with some abrasive (steel wool?) to clean out the corrosion, but as I said, you may not be able to save the light. Best of luck!

Mini Maglite not working

You could have dirty contacts if the batteries were in for a long time and you never used it. The contacts are: (1) the tip of the spring and (2) where the positive end of the battery touches way inside the flashlight. You can try and clean them with alcohol. If you think it might be the bulb, try the spare. There is a spare bulb under the spring you see at the base of the flashlight when you install the batteries, you have to pull the spring out and then snap it back in after you get the bulb out. And yes, positive end goes in first in the Maglite. Hope this helps.

Maglite LED. Light switch is intermittent. Have had the same issue with my 8 month old 2AA LED Maglite, don't have receipt and have tried finding a solution to get it fixed again. Lost my temper with it...

Hi,

Unfortunately not, I've seen more and more of these coming back to the shop here with faults. Mostly they seem to be connection problems like yours.
Pity, MAG are excellent and have really tarnished their reputation with this LED gimmick. A lot of the customers who return their LED's to us take a traditional MAG as a replacement..
