Bunn coffee maker leaks

VPR has a semi-sealed tank that keeps +1 pot of water heated and ready to brew. Pouring in a full pot of cold water will fill the top tray and allow a slow trickle of cold water into the top which forces hot water to over flow into the brew basket. This continues until all the cold water drains into the heater tank. So the brew is matched volume per volume. UNLESS the tank was empty or not filled prior to brewing. Follow the brewing instructions from Bunn (on line for *FREE* download at Bunn.com)
* If it leaks (from the bottom) only when you pour in water. Then your pouring it too fast and over flowing the fill tray. slowdown, watch the level in the tray. do not fill past the lid.
* If it leaks just sitting (not brewing) then there is a hole in the tank. Call for service.
* If it leaks after filling the tray half way. then the top of the tank has a leak, loose, cracked, or missing gasket. There is quite a few gaskets on the lid. Call for service.
* Final; Leaks are always bad around electrical equip. Best to unplug and call for service to be safe.

How do I empty the water resevoir on the Bunn CW15-APS?

Syphon it out from the brew inlet hole in the tank basin, or remove the top panel and the tank basin, then remove the grommet on the pressure stat and turn it over in the sink.

Leaks water from the top resevoire

Either your fill tank is clogged, or your washer seal is cracked. You will need to remove the top of your Bunn to access this area. In the resevoir you will see a large nut with a drain hole. First try clearing the hole with a tooth pick and pour water in the basin. If it flows you have good drainage. Now, with the top still removed, pour water in the basin while checking for leaks. If a leak is present you should remove your drain nut and inspect the clear white looking washer on the underside. If it is cracked you can replace it with a gasket from Bunn. If you are tight on time and cash, a non rubber heat proof water hose gasket will suffice until yours arrives from Bunn. Replace and re-tighten the basin and drain nut (do not over tighten) .

Coffee is in water is in nothing happens

You may not have enough water in the tank.
Follow these steps

1. With the coffee pot unplugged, fill your resevoir/tank until water begins pouring out of your sprayhead and brew basket.
2. Wait for the water to finish dripping then plug in your Bunn.
3. Let your Bunn warm up for at least 8 minutes.
4. Run a test cycle with clean water, remembering to use the water pitcher provided for this purpose, while leaving your empty pot on the burner beneath the brew basket.
5. If your cycle completed, and your coffee pot is filled to the desired level you are ready to make coffee.

Remember that these Bunn models have no water filter2_bing.gif installed, so, the cleaner the water the better tasting the coffee.

Bunn BT 10B -RANCID BUTTER in Resevoir!

Hi Tina - I'm no expert on melted butter in your coffee maker; but, I'd bet that the butter also got into the internal water tank where the water gets heated. Try going to the Bunn website: www.bunn.com , and click on their Customer Service link. You can either call their toll-free number or write to them with your problem from there.

Hope this helps!

RANCID BUTTER melted in Bunn Thermofresh resevoir vents!

There is one thing you can try first. With the machine filled with water and turned on, pour in 1 quart of white vinegar and let it sit in there for 2 hours. Then flush it back out with 8-10 carafes of water. If this doesn't correct the problem, then call customer service with the model and code date. This can be replaced under the warranty if it is under 3 years old or less. If it is over 3 years old, it can be replaced at a reduced price.

Pumping more water out than what i put in

This coffee maker uses a resevoir tank system - the water you pour in pushes out water that is already heated - the water you pour in won't actually be used for that pot of coffee! For that reason you should only use full pitchers when filling. You may need to cycle through 2 or 3 fillings before the input matches the output once more. The capacity of the resevoir is about 3 pitchers; you can brew 2 pots in a row before the machine needs a break to bring the resevoir back up to temperature.
