Welcome to the wonderful world of the iHome frying the Ipod.
Your iHome, has most likely fried the mainboard on your ipod.
to check plug a usb into the ipod and connect to the computer.
if it comes up disconnect the usb and try a headphones in the jack.
if it doesn;t play sound its fried and you will need a new mainboard.
if it does play through the headphone jack, your lucky and keep it off the dock.

I have fixed at least 30 ipods taken out by ihome docks and other docks.
they are terrible for the ipod. Even Apple sells the docks on their website
that shows how much they care about the product.

I bought an ihome p90 it wont play my ipod touch

Hello,
It is very possible that the ihome p90 is not compatible with the ipod touch. unfortunately for us, the different generations of ipods are not all the same and not all work on different docks. To verify that your itouch is not the problem, borrow someone elses and try to see if that will play. I'm willing to bet that its just the dock that is not compatible with that specific version of the itouch.
Good luck

New ipod, old ihome. "device not supported" Any way around?

I'm sorry but no. the ihome is only for the 1st generation, so if you want to use it with your new ipod, you need to buy another one that supports second generation. this is a bummer, but its how they make their money.

Problem with ihome and ipod nano.

yes, unfortunately the ihome iH9 is not compatible with previous models of the ipod nano.

if you want a similar device, there are many other docking stations for the ipod that are ip0 that ARE compatible with the ipod nano 2G

iH85B is another ihome dock which is compatible with all ipods after the ipod mini (including the ipod nano 2G)

Itouch charging

Hi there,

Some speaker systems which are only compatible for charging the ipod nanos and classics do not work with the iPod Touch and the iPhone, the internals are slighly different from one another which will not allow that speaker system to charge your iTouch.

To play & Charge your touch, i suggest getting a speaker system that supports the iPod touch platform.

Hope this helps ?!

Ihome won't play ipod, even after resetting ipod

When I first got my ipod touch and my ihome I had no problems and then all of a sudden everything worked except for the ihome wouldn't play music. It charged properly and the alarm and clock worked fine just the music wouldn't play. So I assumed it was the ihome and took it back and exchanged it only to get home and have the exact same problem. So I reset my Ipod and it worked. To do it you have to hold the sleep button until the red slider appears. Slide your finger across it to turn off. Press and hold the sleep button until the apple comes on. Next I sync'ed and looke dfor an update. After all this I docked it and it worked.
