How do I delete songs

More info please. Without it I offer this.

Have your iTunes on your computer. Open iTunes and update your music. i.e. delete the songs you wish to delete. Then set your iTunes to sync to your iPod (make sure you don't have it set to sync the other way). With iTunes open, plug your iPod into a USB port and the computer should sync back to the iPod and mirror your iTunes files.

I'm trying to sync an apple ipod shuffle 4th generation to my windows xp pc. The famous USB device not recognized thing pops up. What do i need to do so i can use and sync my ipod.

Shutdown Windows.
Turn the computer off.
Unplug the AC power cord.
Reconnect the AC power cord.
Restart the PC.
This will eliminate many "intermittent" problems.

Now, connect some other USB device (mouse? keyboard? memory-stick?) into the USB port, to confirm that the USB port is working, at least for some USB device.

Now, connect the iPod to one of the USB ports.
If it is not recognized, connect the iPod to a different USB port.

This should work.

Starting up with anew ipod touch

To use iPod touch, you need:
  1. A Mac or a PC with a USB 2.0 port and one of the following operating systems:
  • Mac OS X version 10.4.10 or later
  • Windows XP Home or Professional with Service Pack 2 or later, Windows Vista Home Premium, Business, Enterprise, or Ultimate edition.
  • iTunes 7.6 or later, available at www.apple.com/itunes
  • iTunes Store account (to purchase music over Wi-Fi)
  • An Internet connection
Before you can use any of the iPod touch features, you must use iTunes to set up iPod touch. You can also register iPod touch and create an iTunes Store account.
  1. Download and install the latest version of iTunes from www.apple.com/itunes.
  2. Connect iPod touch to a USB 2.0 port on your Mac or PC using the included cable. The USB port on most keyboards doesn’t provide enough power. Unless your keyboard has a high-powered USB 2.0 port, you must connect iPod touch to a USB 2.0 port on
    your computer
  3. Follow the onscreen instructions in iTunes to set up iPod touch and sync your music, video, photos, and other content. Your computer must be connected to the Internet. By default, iTunes automatically syncs all songs and videos in your iTunes library to
iPod touch. If you have more content in your library than will fit on iPod touch, iTunes alerts you that it can’t sync your content. You’ll need to use iTunes to select some of your songs, videos, and other content to sync.
When you get back to France, you'll need sync it with your PC. Download the latest version of iTunes then sync your iPod with your computer.

Ipod 8g wont sync

There are several possible reasons:

1. You have damaged the USB port of your PC. Try in other USB port or other computer to check if the Ipod is recognized.

2. The USB cable is damaged. Try another one.

3. The ipod has either damaged the main board or the dock connector port. Ther is not solution but replace the damaged part and it needs to be done by somebody that knows how to do it.

4. Sometimes the dock connector port is dirty. Using a magnifier with light, you can check if this is the case. If so, blowing compressed air will remove the dust and dirty, or if there is something liquid (such coke residues), you can use a dry and clean rag or napkin will do the work, but you have to do it very carefully so you won't bend or damage the metal contacts.

Apple Ipod isnt recognized on computer

You can only sync one ipod with one computer so if you put music on it already it will only work with the original computer you synced it with. Same with ANY ipod.

Ipod nano 4G silver not syncing

Try pluging in the iPod and when it does not sync press F1, this tells the computer to update any USB port but usually doen't work. Then try reseting the iPod while plugged in. You do this by holding the Menu and Middle button for five seconds. Also go into my computer to see if your iPod has shown up there. I think that a 4th Gen Nano would still be under warrenty. Make an appointment to the Apple store's Genious Bar. If it doesn't sync there, they may replace it.
